How much should I put into INT/SPR for Wizard?

I was thinking of going mostly SPR but I’m hearing hybrids are the way to go and pures are bad. Resource management is more of a priority to me than anything. What would you consider to be the Goldilocks stat distribution for a support/CC build?

Build

Wiz - Wiz/Cryo - Psycho - Linker - Chrono - Chrono

If you really want to go purely support/cc and you don’t care about damage I would say get enough SPR to keep your Mana up and the rest into CON. If you want more damage put points into INT. It’s hard to give exact numbers

I’ve been reading other threads between here, reddit, and some other sources that say a 2:1:1 ratio of INT CON SPR for a wizard build. Would this be fairly accurate? Aiming for a Pyro/Kino build.

How much is too much SP? It doesn’t seem like you can’t get enough considering how quick you run out as a Wizard, but is SP recovery such as natural recovery and recovery through items such as potions scaled/affected by your overall SP or is it fixed to a specific value?

Sorry I don’t know.

None at all, dex OP xD

Dodge all the attacks by standing still? Would help on a class that benefits from crit.

He could… wave to his party members while leeching xp if you’re worried about him levelling xD

With the build you’re going, you’ll likely not run into any mana issues. I’d just not put any points into SPR at all. Mana potions will cover you the whole way.

As a note, even with attributes, the cryo skills don’t seem to scale too well ( for just taking 1 rank in cryo, you’d need more ranks ). However, the pyromancer skill Flame Ground scales extremely well, so if you were going to take 1 DPS class at rank 2, I’d suggest that. ( I made a cryo 3, and the skills only kept up as I levelled them up, but I took pyro rank 1 after, and flame ground lv5 did more sustained DPS than any skill I had ).

The one weakness that flame ground has it that it doesn’t effect flying monsters, but you can work with it since you’re taking linker, and just link a ground mob to those flying mobs.

About SP Potions: They do not scale, I think this should change. It would make taking points in SPR actually worthwhile, if your SP potions restored more.

Also, as far as pures being bad, not so sure about that. They’ve made a patch a while back to mitigate this, giving a 10% bonus to your STR/INT stats, so the more you pump into INT the more you’ll get out of that.

So, tldr; I suggest taking your 2nd rank in Pyro ( flame ground, and fire enchant for support ) and going INT / CON. The distribution is up to you, I went 4:1 INT:CON and was comfortable with the damage/HP I had.

I specifically said support/CCs and listed Wizard/Cryo. I have no interest in a class that focuses on damage and only offers me specifically only 1 enchant and DoT ability with how I intend to play. Damage isn’t my main objective, it’s control.

Berating is not my intention. Don’t take this the wrong way. Someone will find this useful, just that someone isn’t me. Thanks for taking the time to write that out though.
