When the game releases next month how many ranks will we be given in total? Are we going to stay at 7 ranks or will more be added before or after launch? I know that there are a few classes that have been mentioned and shown but are not part of the game right now.
We’re most likely determinant to whatever happens in Korea at the moment.
psst, dude…
this -is- the release.
nothing major is going to change between now and next month, save some bugfixing and stability.
and then it’ll all go to hell again, when the servers get swarmed by everyone else.
technically this is early access beta, no? Plus there is a bunch of classes shown that haven’t been added yet. So I assume it might either be added during this “beta” or after “release” next month. How many ranks we go up to though, I have no idea and am wondering if anyone else has any more information than I do or what I could find
no, it isn’t. this is “release” version, and we get early access to the servers.
because of the terminology used, endless hordes of people are unable to distinguish between “you get a 1 month headstart” vs “Steam’s Early Access Program”… which is basically beta (or worse) games.
we didn’t buy an “Early Access” game.
we bought a DLC package, which includes access to the servers 1 month early*.
idk what classes aren’t added yet, we should have the same version as Korea (or very close at least).
afaik, we have all classes and 7 ranks? this is what i get from looking around at all the sites for ToS. then again, at this stage most of those sites are fairly skimpy at best.
*by “you get on 1 month early” what they really mean is “we’ve delayed access for everyone who didn’t pay”, but saying it that way isn’t nearly as PR-friendly.
That would only be true if they didnt scrap the open beta in favor of this.
So its quite the opposite as you are saying.
The game (bugwise and stability) isnt quite complete yet, so its not ‘‘delayed access for everyone who didnt pay’’ but rather ‘‘given paid access to the game instead of an open beta’’
Classes like pied piper, hackapell or mimic just to name a few are not part of the current ranks. I also don’t believe those classes are hidden classes. So either we are in a “open beta” still or if we are at release there will be more patch dinner ranks in the near future…
yeah, uhm… those classes are all beyond rank 7. TOSBase lists them as “Rank ?” suggesting that they are still “in development”. another wiki only lists up to Rank 6 classes, and still includes those classes as “Rank Unknown”.
and yea, since when has “released” ever meant an MMO stops developing?
if that were true, then WoW would still be in Beta as well, despite 11+ years and 5+ expansion packs.
how are you gonna keep people playing, if you don’t leave room to grow later?
added it isn’t like companies have any requirement to provide an Open Beta phase anyway. if they scrapped it, they scrapped it. and development stage names are simply what the company declares it to be. if they wanted to call this the “zoopy zoopy nonny bing bong” stage, it would be as valid as any other name.
Right so the point of this was if anyone had anymore knowledge on the class ranks and what’s to be expected going forward. I don’t see what your point is?
well, my point is… that’s the information you asked for.
rank 7 is current max.
the classes you’re looking for don’t exist yet, and the obvious implication of that is that yes, more ranks and classes are going to be added later.
as i said; all MMO’s need room to grow, or they die. no mmo developer wants their game to die (especially not after 1 week), so it’s only reasonable to expect that the game will grow… over time. we’re not going to be getting new ranks and classes added every month, or even every couple of months.
really, don’t expect much to change except bugfixes and stability patches over the next month. coz then it’ll all go to hell again like day 1 when all the new players come in. and then more bugfixes and stability patches. and THEN FINALLY when it’s actually running smoothly in ~2 months or so, and they have room to breathe, then they’ll start going back to working on rolling out new content.
if you check out maps of all areas, you’ll see about a few dozen of them with very generic names like Closed_Dungeon and Closed_Dungeon_2 and so on, up to almost the 500’s in level. they obviously have plans to expand, they’re just busy with other things right now.
also, google.
