How is your experience with 1st char?

Did you read all the guides before playing? Or you use your 1st char as a guinea pig?
Please share your experiences here

I will start 1st, i really love archer(heroic spirit of emiya shiro) in fate stay/night. A flexible hero and can adopt to any situation sound just like fletcher. However, archer can duplicated a magic shield which is non-existant in archer tree. QS pavise can’t even shield anything in PvE

Then, i fall into a trap so called Ru gal self create concept build. It was really detailed explained with dmg formulas, sugar coated that it can perform well in pve and pvp and get most likes. When i reached sw c2, i find out that the creator didnt even max his char and went to make a guide. I got even more despaired when all my friends quit tos after i rejected helping ridiculous request(begging silvers, equips, everything)

Luckily god bless me a second chance, i got skill and stat reset from hidden reward event. Plus, Dragoon looks fun and strong even after nerfed. Now i am going to baby her till max lvl

Honestly, it was ■■■■.
My character build was ok, but, later, I got dissatisfied with it… with that, the fact that I did terrible choices with my “levelling”, I gave up on it and rerolled (I gave some thought on saving it, but, nothing to my liking came in mind).

Edit: Forgot to mention that I was talking only about EA, on CBT I did many characters to test what I would like or not.
For the reroll though, I decided to take a base for my characters from some things found interesting.

My first character was an Archer. I wanted to base it off of this anime character.

I changed my team name and focused my current character/s on another anime character.

I was in both betas, so all of my characters then were guinea pigs basically. Both times I went Wizard path and second test I had one archer alt.

So I guess my main character now is also a guinea pig? Since I never even touched swordsman before deciding on it this time.

Archer -> Quarrel Shooter -> Hunter -> Hunter during CBT, it was hell.

But as masochist as I think I am, I also made a Hunter during EA and another after the release…they are both C3 while one has reached R7 8)

CBT about 5 different wizards only half of which got past R4. I was in a frenzy to test everything myself.

First character Pryo-alchemist I hate but I wanted the flame thrower. Got it and I loved it anyway. I don’t care if it’s not meta, does bad damage, and I only get to used it once every 60 seconds! :sob:
She’s going places… I’m taking her to 330 just you wait.

Second character was a Wiz3/link2/necro2 which at the time I thought I was so cool thinking up a hipster build. And turns out everyone runs them and I’m not cool or original.

@Raspy I feel you :innocent: Flame thrower even get stolen by PD. I once always play as fire wizard too but sadly none of the developers know the true romance of it. A true one must BURN and laugh while watching everyone running amok. (What??!! You never tried it before? During childhood. On insects of course)

Thank you everyone for sharing experience. I truly do. It seems that most of tos survivors are from CBT or EA. To be truth, penguin is the only thing that is keeping my sanity in tos. Did you tried looking straight to her eyes? It get even more hilarious when cossack dance

My first character was an archer which I had gotten to around level 44. I felt so underpowered that I decided to make a swordie to explore for a while. Then I found out I was approaching the game entirely wrong and that my level 4x archer was actually fine in the first place. I tested and scrapped a few builds after that for both classes, roughly 4-5 times each, and came to my current characters.

A1-R3-F3. Do I need to explain more?

I’ve already deleted 2 archers

My first character was a cleric>krivis2>paladin2.

I didnt know about cafrisun or good ways to level so it was pretty slow. I had the idea that if i went half str, half int and some con i could do both. Especially with divine stigma that adds to both. That skill was annoying to use. My physical and magic damage started to fall off it felt like and i couldnt heal well in groups because i only had 5 healing squares. I didnt delete him, but i dont play him anymore.

Good thing i got out of it though, i got an arde dagger from the dungeon and 3 elemental damage headgears, plus i learned of cafrisun and pardoner buff. Found good leveling spots. So my next characters are much quicker to lvl.

My first character seems to be doing quite fine, I did read a few guides on what I wanted but later found out the guides were obsolete and I didn’t really agree with all that was said. Unfortunately lvling up was a pain at the beginning til I figure out that questing is the best answer and then doing daily instances helped out too. Currently at lvl 225 and still kicking!

1st character eh? …I’ll just go with whatever I want it to be without any guides and stuff, and nothing special either …a bit fail at defense but …whatever

a1>r3>f2>c …gonna head to c2 …even if it fails a bit

My first char is my archer! She’s Archer 2, Ranger 1 and Scout 1 now. I’m trying to not ■■■■ it up, lol! So far I’m loving my experience. Can’t wait to get stronger, lol

Hahaha… good :+1: Never give up on 1st character

PS: Did you read Dreamy’s scout guide? It is still a good viable guide even after Dreamy had rage quit.

my first char got stuck in the main quest boss fight due to the server is unstable at that time, and end up missing a main quest item to continue lol :joy:

Did you send a support ticket? And IMC didn’t hotfix it?

I too experience it before, got stuck in the cutscene like forever. Luckily, i got out because i was persistently chg chl :joy:

Nope, after 2 week not getting reply, I gave up and start a new char haha
