bump. pls advice. I really want the corsair for the money buff. but also want high damage for solo and group.
I know what you mean but… Most people say they go HOP for the buff since it helps a lot w/ Corsair compared to the Barbarian skill tree. And like idk… I’m figuring out what Rank7 I should go too LOL
yea. the DOP buff is extremely good. but not sure how it compares to dragoon. also no idea how good the money buff works out.
if corsair money buff is actually not that good I could go hop3 > dop > dragoon
If it’s just the money buff that you’re after maybe just 1 circle of corsair is enough. From the skill sim it appears further ranks of Jolly Roger just increases duration and combo damage; drop chance for cash and items is increased by an attribute, not sure if said attribute needs specific levels or c2 though.
Dragoon seems fun, but wouldn’t you need 2h spears to make full use of the skills?(I’ve read the class description and while it says 2h spears just make them more potent, sometimes class desc doesn’t translate well into actual class playstyle. Haven’t checked their skills yet though.) That means three swaps you’ll need to do for your rotation. Shield to taunt, offhand to use corsair c2 skills, 2h for dragoon skills. Seems like quite alot to manage.
Doppel’s buffs are really good though. I suppose it’s down to if you want to have more skills to use or do more damage with your existing heavily autoattack reliant classes.
I’ve heard that auto attack builds fall off hard slightly after the average rank 7 levels, around ~230 and onwards. Hopefully someone can confirm this as I might be going a similar path but for a templar instead (I know the squire alternative, can’t decide ;-; ).
If you do just go one rank of corsair, that opens up a slot for doppel AND dragoon. Hopefully someone can confirm what I said earlier about Jolly Roger.
the main thing for c2 corsair is hexen droper. hear its pretty op damage.
Just checked, dragoon skills can be used with 1h spears. Main thing is the class attrib of 20% and 10% bonus dmg to large and boss monsters at MAX attribute level when equipped with a 2 handed spear. Yes, I know about hexen but was worried that dragoon would force usage of 2handers which would make rotations very clunky cos of constant weapon switching. Could very well lead to a situation such as when you want to use hexen only to realize it won’t come out because you’re still on 2handed spear/shield. But since now it’s clear dragoon skills can be used no problem with 1h spear then a dragoon path is perfectly viable for now.
well all I am really interested is what will basically give me the most amount of gold in like 1 or weeks from now.
so if i get more gold but farm a little slower and will be lower level but have more total gold in the end than a higher clear build. thats fine.
or if the build has just such good clear speed I get way higher level and thus higher gold.
what warrior build or ranger build will be the best for this?
only care about pure pve.
Regarding whether dop or dragoon would be better, it’ll come down to math I guess. Doppel’s damage buff is a huge 50% increase, but has a cost of 50% less defense. You actually gain a bigger boost than loss in most cases, as you’ll only be taking an extra 100+ damage from defense loss which can be patched up with buffs, for muuuch more damage done. Example, you have 2k attack and 500 defense. Monsters you’re grinding on do ~80 damage to you, so 580 damage per hit. Pop the buff, and you gain 1k bonus attack, taking 330 damage before priest/mage buffs to defense. If you dodge alot and crit often, that extra pain will only come occasionally, so not really a threat. If you’re partied with a good tank then it won’t even matter cos you’d rarely get hit too. Though, as I’ve heard about mobs beyond lv230+, they start hitting harder/almost as hard as you can so it may screw you up then.
Still need confirmation about that OP level 230 and up difficulty.
EDIT : On the other hand, dragoons have skills with really high damage and decent cooldowns. Believe its 1.4k base skill damage at lv1 skills, and around 4k+ at level 5. But I could be hugely mistaken.
If you’re looking to just make a cash farming character to help with your “true” main then an afk shop class may be the best choice. Squire, Pardoner, Alchemist and I believe Appraiser is the one for archers, no idea if its been released yet. PM me to discuss for economic reasons
so yea I am pretty much just want the make mo money build.
but I want to note I am leveling with a warlock/linker and a mostly support cleric.
I play more then them but i can basically just grind when they are off and save cards while they use cards to keep up. so i am solo and party
usually though just pure grinding gives better gold/
how much money do these shop classes pull in. I hear they are only good pretty much at the start and after that fall off really hard. and is really only good to the first wave of people who get it. since i am only 30 wont beme.
but say in a full night of afk shop how much money can be pulled in
Depends on what you’re selling, and your location. The first few players will ALWAYS get to dictate the price, so unless they’re reasonable always expect the prices to be inflated until more competition arrives. Exception is squire’s repair, fixed price depending on eauipment star ranks. Pardoners have it rough for now as buff limits have been increased (decreases demand for daino scrolls), some useful skills can no longer be scrolled, and from what I’ve seen so far, quite a large population having dedicated parties atm making buff shops somewhat low demand probably. Alchemists will probably be highest demand due to their abilities and their potions outclassing NPC ones by leaps and bounds. Squire sits comfortably in between…for now.
Location comes into play specifically for squires and pardoners. A squire setting up shop in a safe zone in a popular grind map will probably see good traffic as people use his (likely cheaper than NPC) repair service, as well as to get their weapon buffed at a reasonable price. Saves time teleporting back to klai/orsha for repairs when there’s a guy sitting there doing it for cheaper. Same goes for pardoner with respect to buff shops, solo players/parties without clerics can grab buffs from them. Scrolls…that remains to be seen. If they bring back general shop trading then it can be good. Alternatively just make many scrolls of whatever sells well on the market and put it up on auction.
Alchemist can just spam craft 1k potions while their gem roasting shop is open, and shout item awakening services when they aren’t afk. Potions go into AH. How they’ll sell their item awakening service is a mystery to me though, as silver trading isnt possible beyond AH / craft shops. Maybe they’ll let the alch loot most/all of the drops in the dungeon?
For grinding moneymaking I’ve heard thaumaturge and oracle are great. No idea about thau but oracle has a skill that can change an item drop into another drop from the same drop table, i.e. material/trophy drop can be potentially changed into a gear drop which is usually worth much more.No idea on the cooldown for the skill though. Couple it with corsair’s flag making money rain and items pop out on occasion and you have a pretty solid team grinding combo.
Take note AFK money making basically keeps your character there indefinitely until they run out of materials to keep the shop going, i.e. squire runs out of charcoal/whetstones for weapon buffing. You can log off and play another character or exit the game and turn off your pc, they’ll still be there till everything is sold or you close the shop yourself.
