How is experience in groups awarded - Powerlevel possible?

So I tried poking around a bit about how experience in this game works (aside from field boss rewards) is it based off contribution to killing a mob or is it a static experience per mob kill award does it scale with higher level members taking more? Can’t seem to find any info other than people saying the Korean CBT got more exp than us

I am not saying all mob kills give the same experience, but what I am asking is say I am a level 100 and my friend is 20 if I take him into a zone ~level 25 and powerkill everything for him, would he be getting the same experience as if I was level 30?

Is there any sort of system input in the game to stop people from powerleveling one another?

Just curious because its inevitable that some people are going to fudge up builds and have to restart characters because something doesn’t work how they thought, and this beta being a month long I figure most people will approach the level cap they put into it (250?) unless they raised it or at least get quite high up.

yeah i’m also interested on how exp works in this game … and is there a way to powerlevel or not.

I really hope they dont allow power leveling, its a degrated thing from old games, whats the point on get leveled and not learn how your class work from its base?

If you want some kind of efficient power level go play Defiance (even so i think you need certain reputation/standing with the factions) or Skyforge (not sure about this one tho) and get a friend to find you some high grade gear, you will start strong from the start, other game, which is a heavy CS oriented game and a PoS with old engine/game mechanics is Conquer Online, that one you can get someone or even join a guild that will level you all the way till the required level to reborn and even help you on doing the reborn quests, just be aware that its open PvP and you lose stuff on the bag if you are killed after a certain level, both by monsters and players.

I’ve been wanting to test this for a very long time in the KR beta, but I can never get anyone else to party with me ._.’

It’s dependent on the party EXP rule setting.

With the Equal Distribution rule on, if a higher levelled player (not sure how high) kills an enemy, you get reduced EXP. When I was testing this, I was about 160 and the other person in the party was 98. We were doing the Level 90 Instance Dungeon as well. When I killed enemies, they received reduced EXP. I’ll have to double check the exact amount, but I’m confident it was 1 EXP.

Instead, we swapped to the ‘Individual Gain’ rule, and I got an enemy down very low, then the other person got the last hit and received all the EXP. In a sense, there is a way to power level, but the method you’ve mentioned doesn’t work with the Equal Distribution EXP rule.

Powerleveling is not possible with the linear curve that exists right now. Maybe faster leveling, but not 3 levels at a time like in FF XII.

I see so if its set to equal the lower level person only gets 1 exp per kill? That’s lame but I guess if there is a individual gain with that workaround it could work but would be tedious especially if you one shot things.

Well yea “powerleveling” is a broad term but essentially if someone is doing majority of the work regardless of how much faster if its faster then its power leveling maybe? Dunno seems like something to try to map out how much it speeds by though for future people who want to level the crafting/other oddity class types.

Some classes don’t require much to learn and getting power leveled allows you to catch up quickly for friends and such with new characters, its not something recommended for people who are new and such but will ultimately be used for this if its possible.

This was already discussed on other post, i me and others gave sugestions about this, not as powerlevel but as mentoring system, well it became a opinion’s war in no time, this too might end up like that but we are here trying to make the game better.

While true, this creates a vaccuum in lower level content which is detrimental. A game’s health can be considered by the ammount of players doing lower level content, since many newcomers might not be enthusiastic to level from 1-70 until they find human life with which they might party with.

It’s also a opportunity to find promising players for a guild and good friends, if you’re levelling a alt.

In a game where levelling is such an integral part of the experience, I doubt there will be a way to powerlevel.

I have been wrong before, however.

This happens to every mmo no matter what unless they have some sort of system in place high level have need to be at lower level area.

It used to be limited by level, You could only party with a friend that was within reach of 10 lvls plus or minus.
Not sure about ToS.

You understand that some support classes NEED this ?!

Support classes don’t need pw lvling. They need parties. No game should have pw lvling , it’s just an excuse to be lazy and have someone else lvl you while you sit and do nothing.

ROLFMAO @ this, seriously? I played as support for a while on the first iCBT, the exp was way lower and i played nicely, if i died was 2 times, in Telet Chapel i downed every single boss so fast that was getting boring (holy damage on demon/undead ftw!) now you come and say this? Hahahahahahahahahaha.

Said all that was needed to be said. Kudos for ya.

I’m pretty sure if you are level 100 and you kill a level 20 mob you won’t be getting any exp from that. If you do it will be very limited exp.
