How important is potential?

Quick question. I want to transfer one of my ardes to my alt and I’ve been waiting for them to update the team storage like they said they would so that I wouldn’t lose 1 potential in the process. However, I’m beginning to think it’s gonna take them a while.

So how important is potential in this situation? Worth waiting and saving 1 potential on the arde or in the words of Shia Labeouf “just do it”?

Edit: Just wanted to clear up that all my ardes still have 7/7 potential. Mostly just planning for the future.

Potential I believe, means you can’t trade when it reaches zero and will affect the amount of enchant you can do on it with anvils.

I believe that’s correct.

Late game its more about enchanting. You lose 1 potential for every failed enchant. So basically, its a bid on getting a high enough enchantment before your potential runs out.
Also socketing uses potential.

Thank you so much for that. c:

I understand the concept of potential I was just wondering about this situation specifically. Ardes are pretty low lvl only 75 req and 90 drop but they’re still moderately tedious to obtain and good dmg wise. So I’m wondering if I should save this 1 potential on my arde or not.

I mean if you ever want to sell it or give it to a different character you wont be able to if you have 0 potential remaining. I honestly don’t think it’s a good idea to ever get something to 0 potential unless it’s endgame gear and you wont be swapping it out ever. (Which probably wont happen since new updates happen)

TLDR

0 Potential = Stuck with item forever.
IE: Can’t Sell, Can’t Trade, Can’t Upgrade unless Golden Anvil, Can’t give to new characters that you might make in the future.

If you can’t farm and you have money, no, don’t lose your hair over 1 potential.
By the time you needed to save every single bit of potential, you’d have more things to worry about.

Arde is just… precious.

Here is how to answer this question using logic:

  1. Would you ever want to enchant arde? (Hint No)
    -> Potential is unimportant

i’ll throw another vote in for “just do it”.

it’s probable that you will replace it eventually anyway
it’s possible that another will drop when you are doing the dungeon

i mean if you ever needed a “perfect” arde that badly, you could just take the time to farm a new one
and in the meanwhile, we have no idea how long until the adjustments to Team Storage will take… or even if removing the “Potential Loss” is part of their plan. they haven’t actually said -what- the changes to team storage will be (unless i missed something; please link me if someone official has said something).
