How important crit is in ToS?

i have been playing a lot of diablo3, in diablo3 crit is really important for the end game, and it got me thinking, does crit increase a lot of your damage? can skill/magic crit? or is just AA(like in a certain old game)?

Magic can not crit.

STR scales at 10% per rank, so even without crit you can do quite a lot of damage.

However with high crit rate, and the STR scaling, you can crit pretty hard. It isn’t necessary, but it is quite good if you can manage it.

Magic will always crit in my heart

… then again doesn’t Fire Pillar Crit? That’s like the only thing I know that crit back in iCBT (dunno if they changed it or not)

I feel like we’ve been through this discussion before O_o

We probably have but I have selective memory  also sleep deprivation really takes a number out of me.

A couple spells used to crit (like druids carnivory as well), they’ve been fixed since then.

One day they will introduce spell crit  It is inevitable!

Too OP ;;

Luckily, magic has 100% accuracy.

Haha that’s great. Looks like its going back to the roots of sustainable and predictable damage. Unlike contemporary MMOs where they all mostly rely on RNG.

but I wanna know… a magic has Always 100% of max damage?

Yup. There is only really a difference of like 1-2 damage generally for magic damage. If you compare the weapon damage, you’ll see that magic damage has only 1 number showing while physical damage has a range of damage with the highest being the weapon Gamble at least from my knowledge :stuck_out_tongue:

0 ~ 688 @_@ the dmg is totally random or It depends of your dexterity?

Should be entirely random but you should get someone who actually tested the weapon to tell you about it lol. Pretty sure there was a video out there with a Crit Swordsman doing a ton of damage just by RNG

I am not sure for physical classes because I didn’t play them much, but I think minimum damage is base stat + base weapon damage + buffs, and maximum damage is minimum damage with the addiction of weapon refinement + your STR.

Gems can increase either total attack or maximum attack only too.

Magic attack is always constant, unless you get magic amplification stat (present on cloth gloves, few weapons and few buffs). Magic amplification works like maximum attack where a random number between 0 and your max amplification will be add to the final damage.

@mimix in comparison, my level 80 my Archer needs 160~ crit chance to crit near 65~70% of the time on monsters of the same level.
With 75 crit chance that guy wouldn’t do much on level 113 monsters.

Actually, Str increases both max/min by 1, refinement also increase the attack by a flat amount.

It’s the weapon’s damage range for the most part, and there’s the +12 MAX attack from Crystal Bangle you can get via the Mine story quest too.

so, the monsters have crit resist too =)

Even though magic weapons don’t have a min/max like physical weapons, it is theoretically still possible to have a random magical attack range through the addition of effects of +?? max. attack or +?? magic amplification.

If that is desirable for magic classes, that’s a different story.

Does anyone know if the Krivis’ skill Zalciai increase the critical chance or the critical damage?

The terms you are using have different names in ToS.

critical chance = critical rate
critical damage = critical attack

And Zalciai increases critical attack and decreases critical resistance.
So - in a sense - it does both.
