How effective are mounts?

can someone please explain to me exactly how mounts work? what bonus do you get for mounting? can you mount get exp while mounted? does the level of the mount make a difference? all details about mounts would be thankful

  1. mounts give you good move speed.
  • archer buff stacks
  • trot for cataphract
  • not all toons can mount, only those classes with mount attribute can
  1. you % of pet stats when mounting (so i heard/read in forums)

  2. level of mount makes difference if #2 is true. Also, I have yet to confirmed if the bigger companion with a beak (no not falcon) has bigger base stats than the pig hamster thing

  3. mounts take up a space in your lodge. if you have one, you can only have room for 3 characters.

  4. your lodge can share your companion - you can set this in the lodge screen/character selection.

thx miguel, still looking for more mount info, all u guys got, like if I train mount on cataphract can i then use it later on a diff class? like a dragoon?

This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.

I dont know if its a bug or if they removed that % add stats from mounting, but atm im a cataphract and its no applying.

@VnZzz
You need to feed your pet.
You don’t get pet stats when it has 0 stamina.

The stats you get are a small percentage of HP, PhysDef and Evasion.
You also get +4 movespeed by default.
(not sure if it’s Cata only, I’m saying this as a cata)

Stamina drains over time.
I don’t know if riding/combat drains more stamina (doesn’t feel like it), but it does drain over time.
(not sure if it drains while you’re offline…)

You can buy pet food from the companion seller/trainer.

Miguel is right about pet stats. Read the part of my post above.
I didn’t check the exact %, but it’s relatively decent.

p.s. Additional info, think of pets as their own characters.
Like @miguelc0611 said, they take up a slot.
They also can be moved between characters.
(CAREFUL, you CAN delete your pet by accident.)

Thank you LaScoot,didnt know that.

does your pet gain xp while its being ridden?

@gerardflores702
I believe it does. My pet’s level has been steadily rising even though I pretty much ride it all the time.

Try checking yours.
@edit I misunderstood. I don’t think RIDING actually gives XP by itself.
I just meant it still receives xp from kills while being ridden.

It does get exp while riding. just less than when it is killing on its own.

Also note that you can’t feed the pet in daily dungeons. (lv100+)
it sais you cant feed him in this area… so take note of it too!
