How does PVP scale?

Hi! I’d like some information aobut pvp league scaling. As we know everyone is scaled to 200 lvl but what exactly does scale and how?

For example - going to league with Beetleback won’t add HP from the shield to your own. So what does go into league if not attributes from eq?

when you level you automatically gain more sp and hp based on ur class (cleric gains most sp and sword gains most hp) so thats what you scale on

so eq doesnt matter at all? Like AT ALL? What about attributes, skill level etc?

So we can just grab w/e geat looks best? Fashion pvp? Omg it’s the dream

Gear has an influence, the stats are standardized to a degree. I don’t really understand how yet, but I presume all gear archetypes are assigned either some defense or some attack, and then level and item rarity influence how it scales (how it works in DFO PvP, for those more familiar with that system).

I’ll take a look at the next session with more items. I did a quick test just comparing Karacha Dagger (which gave literally nothing besides for some off-hand physical damage) vs. a Guardsman Shield (220 common). I had around 320 phys. defense in match with dagger and around 400 phys. defense with shield on. Outside of instance, I’m 433 with dagger and 535 with shield.

Hats have no bearing at all. Most unique properties will also apply, for example Ignition’s burn effect. Animus removes HP recovery without granting the appropriated magic amplification. Audra’s innate Freeze seems to work and is a special version that bypasses Bloodletting.

Attributes apply in Battle League. So do skill levels.

gear has influence, you know how you get stats from gear? you keep the gear stats and u get hp from ur level

Stats scale to 200 according to what you have already (if you have allocated 50% STR and 50% CON, that will be scalled up or down, depending on your level, to 200).

Tried to equip blue armor with +“Stat” and didn’t work. Also tried to use a blue staff with +182 magic amplification, also nothing.
Elemental damage doesn’t work as well (no Arde memedagger) or anything from head accessories.

Items only work for unique special effects (Ignition, extra skill levels, things you can’t get elsewhere) and Set Bonuses (Cafrisun gives all bonuses properly).

In addition, it seems that every “type” of equipment (at least weapons and off-hands) will give a set amount of defense or attack. Item level and rarity do not affect this. Example:

Magic Rod (Lv. 40 Blue) gives the same amount of magic attack as Superior Corona Rod (Lv. 220 White). A sword gave much physical attack and no magic attack. Another sword of much higher level and different rarity gave the same amount of physical attack.

Every single shield I equipped, from Meteor (Lv. 1 Purple) to Zalia Kite Shield (Lv. 40 Blue) to Guardsman Shield (Lv. 220 White) all gave the same amount of physical defense (it was either 88 or 98, I can’t remember).

The short is, certain items should be equipped (for example a shield in your off-hand, since daggers don’t provide anything besides for an alternate basic attack, and I think same with pistols) but for the most part as long as you’re wearing the correct “type” of equipment you’re set and can gear for cosmetics in your main and off-hand.

Thanks for the info. How good btw is ignition in BTL?

I added CON between pvp league fights and it give me more hp - even when im above 200 lvl (250 atm).

Beetleback doesnt give anything except defense (np HP boost, no hp recovery).

i understand skill levels but does this mean a high level attribute enhancement will increase damage of a certain skill?
its hard to test this since you get a different enemy all the time.
i will try to test later if the cloth/leather/plate attributes will make a difference(i will check my stats inside TBL, then check stats, then after game i will upgrade them.recheck the stats if something has changed.)

One thing of note.
I used Grand cross. picked up a stone, the +2 QS skills worked. which means for example, a level 1 base pick up stone will give you 1 stone. upon equipping GC, it gave me 3 stones instead.
The time for my Running Shot is as per lvl7 duration.
I used a differrent xbow(skc). picked up the stone that was what the skill level indicates.
BUT. The damage/ physical damage is the same upon checking my stats when equipping both GC and SKC.
I dont think the + of the gear matters tbh.
I have tried talking to people on 2v2 if we can test damages and stuff but they end up killing me while im Screenshotting my stats.rofl

Yes, attributes count and make up a significant portion of damage for everyone. From what I heard, regular armor as well as armor mastery attributes don’t count, but I haven’t personally tested this yet.

Plus skill levels from gear should work, as should bonus item properties (like Ignition again for example). All other stats that an item should provide, at least in weapons (the only thing I’ve tested along with off-hands) is standardized to give a set amount of damage or defense based on the type of item it is (all swords give the same amount of physical damage, all staves give the same amount of magic damage).

Monster gems work in Battle League, at least my Ausrine gem did in 5v5.

Finally and obviously, stat and skill points do impact Battle League to a degree. You will notice that even with no gear on, you’ll have slightly less HP inside the instance than outside the instance. But this does mean that a 280 player has a notable advantage over a 126 player queuing in, especially if the difference in points is placed in constitution, as well as a class level 15 having a notable advantage over a class level one of two appropriated jobs.

Just to add.

Element give me a pretty consistent 200ish less dmg than my duris demon pike. (edit: confirmed wrong… it must be some buff of something)

However, i only tested one 1 hour session with it.

So, the freeze status that audra gives applies in arena? ( 15% chance to freeze on skill ) and if not, does this even applies in pvp?

Another small thing to add. Chest, pants, gloves, boots, and rings may not add stats (I have to double check at least rings). I need to double check necklaces as well, as Animus gave me magic amplification, but it very well might be the effect of Animus properly working.

Didn’t get much of a chance to check stats other than damages and defenses from these quick checks.

Ok, i was able to get more test in.

My galin trident do exactly the same damage as elements while using cyclone.
duris demon pike medium monster dmg dont seem to apply to players.
my galin trident do give +1 skill for cataphracts, so i have 1 extra sec of trot.

I test it by switching weapon in between round and be the last few survivor for more consistency.

The only thing that counts is your weapon base damage. The property attack on your weapon doesn’t work. I have an Elements spear when I look at my character window my property attacks are missing from it.

My cleric use plate armor, after I enter TBL, I took them off and my HP still stay the same. So my guess is attributes doesn’t work at all.

i do not have grynas set but somebody told me that grynas HP bonus as a set gives you that extra HP bonus in TBL.
another player also told me that SET bonuses give effects.
Can somebody confirm this?

I tried checking plate & leather & cloth and they dont seem to give any.
Note: i went inside TBL, screenshot my stats then after the game i levelled my attribute to 5 levels plate. wore plate inside TBL no increase in HP that i notice.
levelled my leather and cloth. no increase in evasion and sp upon wearing leather and cloth consecutively.
i will double check again. I have so many screenshots i got so confused with it.

plate attributes work. for example. you wore plate 4 plates and have 50 attributes on it. it should give you extra HP.
Im trying to check evasion but for some reason im seeing miniscule increase even tho its 50. will check on leather further.

any bonus damage to size is not added to player/human i don’t know why, test it with Magas Spear & Duris Demon Pike.

I stick with my +5 Elements with 3x 5 star Yellow Gems until I know where to find Hell’s Demon Pike.

P.S. Elements is not that good if you play Solo, but it is the cheapest 2H spear recipe i can afford (25K).
