Obviously the damage dealt to one enemy is also dealt to all, but is it just the damage? Are debuffs and status effects shared as well? Also, how many ways are there to break the link?
From what I heard it’s not share debuff.
Debuffs don’t get shared. As far as I know link will only break if one of the linked mobs die or the duration run out.
Joint Penalty is pretty godlike if your party has a lot of AoE.
Debuffs aren’t shared between them all.
I believe Joint Penalty has a duration.

But what about status effects like freezing or burning? Or are they categorised as debuffs?
