How do people play Diev without Carve attack?

Hi, so back in the days, i have discussed with a number of people about the diev build that isn’t using Carve attack, and we are talking about (INT, CON)

on paper it looks doable,

but 2 weeks into the game, i realize that i cannot survive the flying monster without Carve, the only way for you to fight against flying is to buy the Sarcament and Blessing scrolls and deal with them with auto attack.

so i have a question for those who play Diev3 and have 0 Carve attack, how do you guys deal with the Flying mob?

Because Owl Statue isn’t the best solution for it also.

please advice. Thanks!

no reason not to take carve attack even if you don’t have any points in Str, base damage high enough and Laima is the only good C1 statue, max carve and put whatever is left into laima, prioritize the silencing tree the most.

A question, any reason for not investing 1 point into carve? Carve even at level 1 with an INT/CON build is still viable and is multi-hit. I leveled with a level1 carve until I decided to invest more into the skill at almost the end of diev2.

For players going cleric2->diev, there are no other skills other than auto-attack and owl that deals with flying mobs. What we can do is just auto attack and hope it goes down faster.

Yet another question, does this skill worth to take more than lv1? Because I can see very little improvement for each lvl increases except for the drop rate~

Yes it does increase in damage at higher ranks. Personally I won’t suggest maxing it, around level 10 (with around 300 attack per hit) will suffice. Mine is lvl12. At around character level 210 with a +3 lvl170 weapon + arde it does around 800-900 per hit. With 50% piercing it clocks around 1.4k~1.6k.

So on average it deals roughly 3k+ ~ 5k+ (including misses) on a monster, with our low dex not all 5 hits will hit sadly. It is quite a good skill to use and solves much of the flying monster problem.

when things have over 100k hitpoints thats not really a lot… It seems like a leveling skill, which means you could just not take it, it would be a hassle though. If you got cafrisun, ard, and bought buffs however auto attacks should still be viable, particularly if you use them sparingly.

Of course skill respecs exist so you could just use it and then spec out of it when it stops being any good.
