Hey Saviors.
I’m not quite sure about how other people feel on this matter, but it’s concerning for me. Well, the fact is we have dozens of classes but only a handful of good endgame classes. As of rank 8, thesee classes will be the rank 6, 7 and 8 classes.
Well, this is kind of obvious since those are the most powerful choices at rank 8 (rank 6c3, rank7 c2 and rank 8c1). But that means we will only be having those classes on the endgame content, not counting hidden classes. As you progress through ranks, the earlier ranks become more and more obsolete (think Highlander or Ranger for example) as their damage will be overshadowed by the most recent ranks.
In my opinion, this is not optmal in a game that sells the fact that we have 80+ classes on the table.
So, how to soften this? Well, we might as well add a circle 4! Well, not circle 4 exactly, the way I imagined it. This is what I’ve been put some thought on:
Circle 4 - The Master Circle
By reaching “circle 4” we would become “Masters”, being ranked as high as the NPC that taught us. By becoming masters we would have our classes renamed to “Peltasta Master” or “Wizard Master” and have our stars repaced by some other, cool-looking symbol.
We would not learn new skills by reaching this rank, nor our previous skills would be able to reach higher levels (you would not be able to use Ice Wall lv 20, for example). But hey, what? Don’t worry, I’ll get there.
Instead, we would get some cool attributes exclusive to the master classes. This would not be normal attributes, as we would not be able to learn them from the regular, NPC masters. Instead, we would go through quests to unlock them. They can be cool attributes like a Fireball that explodes when it expires, dealing AoE damage for Pyromancer Masters, or a 50% HP bonus when using Swashbuckling for Peltasta Masters.
This would be really intersting mechanics, and there are a lot of possibilities to it too. Maybe we could be locked to learn only 1 or 2 attributes, making us choose between which skills we prefer to enhance. Or maybe not, and they would work like regular attributes, if that’s better for balancing things.
Also, by becoming masters, we could be able to “train” people having the same classes we do but at lower circles. There could be a bonus exp if we are on the same party, or maybe they would be able to train attributes if they visit our lodge (and then we would profit from the training! Ofc, we would have to know those attributes already). The possibilites are endless.
But what about the Skill Points? We would be given 15 skill points as we progress through our current rank as normal, and those points could be distributed along all our Skills. That would be like having 60 skill points and being Rank 3 today, if you have trouble visualizing it.
Well, this is a simple, cool-looking solution in my opinion, and that adds a little more diversity into the endgame, by bringing another possible rank into the endgame lines (Rank 5 would become more alive as of Rank 8 cap).
Please do tell me your thoughts on it
TL;DR: It would be cool to rave rank 4, because we would have more possibilites for the endgame.
