How can Change my Name in the Forum

I need change my Username in this forum is not appropiate for get in public forum using Real name. I want change my name to “ID”

The way I do it:

1.) Log out of forum and whatever google account I happened to be logged in with.

2.) Log into the Google account (gmail or youtube) with the name I want to use for the forums.

3.) Log into the forums using the Google Plus button.

4.) Log out of the Google account I only use for this. This will not log you out of the forums. I’ll then log back into Google with my real name account, but this stays logged in with the account I want to use (until I manually log out of the forums).

If that makes sense.

edit: You have to access the Google Plus part of Google and change your display name/avatar.

Hmm… normally you can do it through the settings on the forum. Perhaps the feature was removed because of abuse… Hrm… Maybe a moderator can help you.

Go here… and see if you can edit your name and save it.

And make sure script blockers are off if you run them. It might be a google app.

You should see an edit icon like you have for threads you post.

Hmm… This forum uses discourse… looked up name changing stuff found this. Sounds like there is a time lock enabled that disallows name changes. You may need to make a new account.

Change the username_change_period site setting from its default of 3 days. The description for this setting says:
The number of days after registration that accounts can change their username (0 to disallow username change).

I think they have it set higher then 3 days… Cause I definitely changed the name on this account later then that… But it does appear to still lock as I can’t change mine now either.
