How are you going to get the best connection for KR OBT

Hey Guys,

CBT2 is over and I had a lot of fun playing it and I guess there are a lot of players that also look forward to Korean OBT.
This topic is maybe a bit early scince we dont know yet if there is going to be an OBT or a CBT3 in the future but I would like to discuss this no anyway.
Playing with a high ping is not very enjoyable, so you have to find a way to improve your ping, exspecially when you try to connect to a server that is on the other side of the planet.
But this is not the first high anticipated mmo from Korea that has an OBT with regionblock. I would like to take Black Desert for example. In this game it is also possible to get an almost average(still not very good) ping with which the game at least becomes playable.

I dont really know too much about this topic so I would like to hear how you are going to deal with the expected high ping in OBT?

does the “google-DNS-trick” work for Tos, too?
Have you tried using a VPN in CBT2 and was it helpful?

I would like to hear your opinion about that and maybe share some tipps, ty :slight_smile:

Get the best connection by not playing kOBT. <_<

Try WTFast, i used it last CBT2. My ping dropped somewhere around 190-220ms from 400 or 600+ ping. Helps a lot, i can z attack in the air without delay.

Have you ever played the Korean beta before? I played during kCBT 3. There is zero lag when playing the Korean version of the game and I’m on the east coast USA… so this topic is pointless. I had the same ping as on the iCBT.

@Elenaya

Uhmmm what?

I’m on the east coast as well, and the auto attack lag caused my autos to take 2.5x as long as they should. Auto attacking in the air stuck me to the ground until it was complete, and auto attacking on the ground didn’t do anything until 1 second later, when a 2nd real auto attack would happen.

Also my friends on the west coast had the same issue.

Same ping as iCBT? As connecting to a server in the same timezone as you, vs one that’s as far from you as it could possibly be?

WTF?

There was no need for a VPN and just the needed korean account?
