Hotspots for grinding should all have at least 2 channels in my opinion

because the single channel in overlong bridge valley is depressing… who do i have to beg for an extra channel there? :[ I wouldn’t be surprised if people couldn’t access that map soon on how crowted it is.

2?! more like 5-10, having questing areas become bottlenecks is bad enough, those areas being grinding areas aswell just makes me want to quit playing.
i am of the opinion that every zone should have 10 channels, so even if there isn’t that many people playing the solo players can get into empty zones, competing over quest ressources or grinding enemies is super frustrating depending on the class, i had people simply last-hitting mobs i have whittled down to steal the quest advancement.

I fully agree on them needing to have more channels but i was just begging for at least 2 because most of them have 1…

I don’t entirely agree with this. I have come across hot spots, and totally understand where you’re coming from, however by catering to individual hot spots and opening more channels for those individual high exp zones, other spots would end up being completely neglected and a zone having high density/exp per kill doesn’t entitle it to players. So basically what I’m trying to get at is, yeah hot spots are great, but by having elements that force hot spots into becoming competitive zones, it balances out the exp/material/items gained and keeps the zone from being overpowered.

Except, then the game becomes like early FF XI…where each team takes this tiny corner, grinds for hours, and tells everyone else to “Piss off”. I’ve seen some pretty horrible things said in the Mausoleum Construction area. It’s absolutely not fair that the “Leet, Chosen Few Who Can Drop Damage Crap on the Ground Over Spawn Points” get to camp the ebst spots with their friends for hours on end.

That’s the perk of being in a team. Also I can guarantee you stuff like that isn’t going to heavily influence leveling, given that there are already 10+ channels per zone. Keep in mind that this the current volume of players is hyped based and will even out if not drop a month after this game officially releases. Also like I said, players aren’t entitled to individual hot spots, if one exists and you want access to said hot spot on that channel, then do what it takes within your power to hold it, whether it means partying up or whatever, these hot spots are for leveling/grinding loot, if it gets to the point that a hot spot is so good that people are actively going out of the way to camp it for days, then chances are it’s op and will be nerfed. Also laying aoes and what not to claim mobs, that’s just class based, if your current spec isn’t able to compete with other classes/specs when it comes to mob grinding, then maybe it’s just as simple as it not being meant for mob grinding.

so you are saying “play in a group or gtfo”?

That’s not what I said at all. I said if it takes a group to hold a spot and you want it, that’s what it takes. I’ve been playing this game solo throughout my grind and have come across groups in hot spots. Easy fix - channel hop. Also there’s the fact that I’m a fencer, meaning that I also have to worry about competing with magicians. If you want to look at this whole hot spot/grinding situation from a linear or negative perspective, then you’re only going to get negative results, that’s all there is to it. Not every spec is equally capable when it comes to grinding, not every player is going to be in the right spot at the right time, not every player is going to have the knowledge or versatility to hold a spot, there’s too many variables to say “Just give everyone their own spot, that’s the only fix.” Especially, when like I said, there’s no rational reasoning behind the idea that everyone or anyone is entitled to a ‘hot spot’

Every zone past 60 only has one. 40-59 have two. Channels, that is.

Hence why they need to implement more. Also, it;s incredibly easy to hold most spots… Being that mosnter spawns are all set and not random.

Right, like I understand implementing more channels to higher level areas, I’m speaking out against adding them to the degree that really any player is given a reason to believe that they can show up and claim a ‘hot spot’ at any time.

no one ever said that, you just assumed so out of nowhere to be honest. We’re all here just asking for more channels because it is congested. As someone said above there is only 1 channel for areas above level 60. It is entirely congested even more so it’s been a week and ofcourse everyone who works and has a busy life but puts time to play the game is alread at those levels and it’s really bad. It is as senpaikun has said. People are just claiming spots even worse they’re AFK farming ( botting ) whatever you want to call it, and i can’t blame them because who wants to be “grinding” left overs hoping to get lucky. More over there’s not enough monsters for groups there’s too many people even for playing in a group it don’t work out some people have to go either to another channel or another spot and sadly there’s not a lot of decent grind spots to advance,

More than anything i don’t get why early level areas still have like 20 channels… share the load please.
