I’m reaching lv 170 soon and going to get Cataphract as my rank 6. Should I continue using my Zega spear, invest in a Brandish or maybe a two-handed variation?
for questing and soloing i recommend 2-handed spear (the damage output is insane) but in dungeon 1-hand spear and shield is a must if you take peltasta in circle 2
I’m Cataphract circle 2 and 2-handed spear is very useful in mobs over lvl 130 with high block (the 40% bypass block atributte is OP)
I also do have an Arde dagger. So I’m not sure how much difference a 1handed with Arde compared to a two-handed spear. If I’m going for a two-handed, any recommendations? thanks~

Very interested in this discussion, can’t decide between Brandish + Arde Dagger and Elements for my level 170 weapon. Would anyone be so kind to enlighten us with what brings the bigger benefits? <3
You will deal more Phys Damage per Normal Attack with Brandish and only a base of 124 Fire Damage from Arde Dagger = Total hits of 2 which allows you to proc Concentrate / other hit base buffs like blessing 2 times. Bonus on this is you will have a neat Critical ATK thanks to the +24 STR which is good for High DEX builds but I hardly ever see High DEX hoplites because of Finestra.
On Elements, we have 4 elemental attacks which allows you to proc Concentrate / other types of hit based buffs a total of 5 times per normal attack. You also have that + 10 attack range that allows you to attack from a much safer distance.

Thanks for the inputs. I ended up with a Geras Spear for now since I got it fairly cheap. Might change if it falls below expectations.
forget about elements come on ELEMENTAL CANT CRIT, use lydeka and dont change your weapon till lvl 220

Elementals can’t crit yes but it totally outweighs your Lydeka on party play because it makes your Concentrate and a priest’s blessing hit 5x, 6x with sacrament, 7x with last rites, 8x with Enchant Fire.
What else would you ever ask?
The difference is only 100 PHYS attack so there isn’t much of a different + you have 54 of 4 elementals which is already big.
Furthermore, your CRIT is puny against ghost types because they only suffer 50% of PHYS attacks dealt on them while elementals remain the same unless they have resistance against a single type of Element. Still, that’s just one of the elementals that Elements have so your 54 x4 will only be reduced to 54 x3 and 27x1 while there’s also a chance that one of the elementals do bonus damage against the same mob making its base of 54 into 81 damage of that element.
TL;DR: Your argument is invalid.
This isn’t true. The elemental damage from Elements doesn’t proc any on-hit effects. Please don’t spread this information any further >.>
On another note: Elements is generally stronger than Lydeka, you’d need some insane crit rate for it not to be.
