hiya. first I want to say I am looking forward to GvG. it looks like its going to be quite a bit of fun. but then I realized looking at the Templar skill tree both inside and outside of GvG what kind of use will it have in its current state? lets go though everything the Templar has and then the sacrifices it must make
now before anyone says. no I don’t want Templar to start getting all these attack skills or what. they are a support class for a reason and so I can live without any attacks at least that result in the user doing attacks il explain that bit later. here’s what the Templar has so far
Summon Guild Member/Warp to guild Member
ok the more I play this game the more I am wondering why this skill even exists. with the exception of saving some silver there’s enough warp points scattered around the map and the maps are not hugely big so getting though them is not a problem. and the fact it only warps 1 member a rank just seems a waste of skill points. in GvG it could work but that’s only if its allowed on the GvG map and even then it would just make GvG a warping battle . only other thing I can think of is a world boss but its so limited in its current state it seems a waste of points.
Build Guild Tower. this is the start of skills I feel should only have 1 level in them. the ability to just build the tower this should be. the other features I feel instead of wasting something valuable like skill points should cost silver to unlock. more ways to throw your silver away stuff like that. as it stands at the moment to get all the features you need to use 5 of your 15 skill points to have all the features it just does not seem right. I cant see this having any use at all in GvG. if they wanted to put more skill levels into this and make it more useful for GvG and such they should make it so you can place towers which buffs or can attack or something or upgrade your tower to be able to do these features for a more defensive style of play.
Reduce craft time. this is another which I wish they would just have it at like 1 skill point at like 10% or something. its again just a use of skill points that again has no use in GvG and even outside of that unless you got like a alchemist or something has limited uses outside that too.
Battle Order. the only skill the Templar has that is a proper buff to its allies. the problem is. the stat it buffs. STR at the rate it goes up really does not do a awful lot to help your members. if you don’t know STR only boosts attack by 1 a point so your buff is only basically buffing 5 attack per level it also boosts crit attack by 1 but again only 5 crit attack a level. but that’s not the main flaw with this skill. if your allies are swordsmen and archers or some sort of battle cleric that’s fine its going to at least benefit them. but what about the support healing clerics and what about wizards? they get nothing out of this buff so literally half of my guild has to have a waste of a buff that could be used for something else. what this skill needs is mostly changes. first maybe just 1 or 2 skill levels in it and a decent boost in stats. second the stats it boosts really needs to either
A- Give different stat boost to different classes. like for example STR on swordsmen , DEX on archers, INT on wizards and CON or SPR on Clerics
B- give a universal stat buff. something like CON, SPR or DEX as all classes can at least benefit from this (either more hp ,HP recovery, Crit res and Block for those who do block for CON) , ( More sp, SP Recovery, Block penetration for physical uses and magic def for SPR) , or (More accuracy for physical, crit chance for physical and evade for DEX) . it seems better than only boosting something only 2 classes will benefit from
C- Give just a flat out all stats up by a certain amount. while some would benefit more from this at least the buff would not be useless for all classes
now I have gone though everything they already have. here’s things that would suit the class
Passives
Guild Rivalry - Gains more Physical Defence and Magic Defence VS enemy guild members except Templars. Deals more Physical damage to other Templars
This is one I thought would suit the Templar class well for GvG. since the Templar needs to be sort of durable this one would work well with it. ,making it more effective in guild battles. if a Templar should be strong in any sort of area what so ever it has to be on the field of combat against other guilds.
Weapon Mastery. Depending on what type of weapon a Templar is holding they gain a stat boost. 2 hand weapons give double the stats of single hand and offhand.
this is kind of a move to make Templars who go down different paths a little more different. a Templar with a 2 hand sword would be different from one who uses a sword and shield for example
Types of stats that could go up.
Sword- Physical Defence , Dagger- Block Penetration ,
1H Spear/2H Spear- Crit Rate, 2 Hand Sword - Physical Attack
Pistol on off chance someone goes corsair 3 after Templar -Accuracy
Shield- Block , Rapier- Evade
Guild Unity. Every Guild Member visible to you gains +?MATK, +?PATK, you gain +?DEF,+?MDEF each member you see.
again its a skill to try and make you supportive with your allies who your main target for buffs are your fellow members of the guild. and the guild leader getting a small defence boost at the same time to give them more durability.
Upgrades to other skills
Teleport Skills
Emergency Recall
as it says its a move that would summon all your members at once. making the teleport skill actually useful . if a large scale GvG battle system is released this would be a must for teleporting. massive increases the cooldown and cost in sp in return
Build Guild Tower
Cannon Tower
Your guild tower now has a Cannon on top of it (also applies for GvG) that will shoot at enemy’s causing AoE Fire Damage . Cannon is powerful but shoots slow. Once a guild tower is built build tower may be used again to spawn a Makeshift cannon tower. This tower will eventually disappear over time. Can only use 1 of these traits at a time
Solider Tower
Your guild tower now spawns a few soldiers to guard the tower. you gain the following. 1x Spear solider, 1x Magic Solider, 1x Archer Solider, 1x Cleric Solider . When defeated they will respawn after some time. the tower will sometimes also boost allies defence while around the tower. when you have made a Guild tower you may use build tower again to spawn a Makeshift soldier tower. the tower will eventually disappear over time. can only use 1 of these traits at a time.
Pirate Tower (Requires Jolly Roger, Corsair Class)
Your guild tower now spawns a few Pirates to guard the tower. you gain the following 2x Sword/Dagger Pirates, 2x Pistol Pirates. When defeated they will respawn after some time. The tower also gains the effect of Jolly roger giving a radius like jolly roger turning all guild members into pirates . all of jolly rogers effects time, passive ext all take into effect to members around the tower. the pirates may also sometimes make enemies drop extra silver when hitting a enemy. when you have constructed a guild tower you may use build tower again to make a makeshift pirate tower. the tower will eventually disappear over time. can only use 1 of these traits at a time . Instead of dropping silver sometimes bleeds with each attack in GvG pirate guards only, Cannot use Jolly roger while this passive is in effect
Mercenary Tower (Requires Deeds of Valor/Double Pay Earn, Doppel Class)
Your guild tower now spawns a few mercenary’s to guard the tower. you gain the following 2x Two handed Sword Mercenary’s, 1x Crossbow Mercenary, 1x Crossbow and Shield Mercenary. When defeated they will respawn after some time. This tower also boosts your attack/magic attack while lowering your defence/magic defence if hurt too much while in the towers radius. when in PvE sometimes gain the effect of double pay earn rarely. the amount of hits depending on the Templars rank in it. Mercenary’s can also gain double silver at a chance when double pay earn activates. When you have built a guild tower you may build a Makeshift mercenary tower . it will disappear after some time Cannot use double pay earn while this passive is in use. can only use 1 of these traits at a time
Calvary Tower (Requires Trot, Cataphract Class)
Your guild tower now spawns 2 Calvary Type soldiers to guild the tower. unlike the other towers these guards have a lot more hp and are considered a large type enemy as opposed to the other guards. they also move faster and can move and attack. you gain the following guards. 1x 2 hand Spear Calvary, 1x Crossbow and Pistol Calvary . they will respawn when defeated after a short time. can sometimes buff allies around the tower to run a bit faster for a short amount of time. when you have made a guild tower you can build a makeshift Calvary tower. it will disappear after some time. can only use 1 of these traits at a time
Artisan Tower (Requires Squire Skills, Squire Class)
Your Guild Tower now has your squire services around. A Repair Shop, a Weapon Maintenance Shop, A Armor Maintenance Shop and a Refreshment Table. supplies placed in the tower are used in the services. you may either allow the services to be used by everyone or guild members only. if used by guild members they will get a discount they pay less but you pay less of the % tax so you get the same amount after that if used after a guild tower is made. you can make a makeshift artisan tower .the Makeshift artisan tower works like the camp and lasts as long as your level of the camp with the same cooldown. also has a refreshment table and the penalty reduce buff on all guild members on that map. the effects require you to invest in those skills and skill levels will effect the level of services and such the tower gives. can only use 1 of these tower traits at a time
Other Skills a Templar could use
More Buffs and support skills. this is something I really think this is what the class lacks the most. it lacks what the icon shows support. similar to how the corsair has same said icon but at least has jolly roger and a pirate system. the Templar lacks anything different and only has 1 buff that only effects half the guild.
if you made it thought this post I want to thank you for reading and id like to ask the question what would you want a Templar to be like? it just seems to me it needs a lot of improving in its current state.
