I have recommended it since the beginning with large disclaimers. It’s a fun game, but it’s unfair to tell my friends “Hey, come play this game I enjoy so much” without being like “there’s this, this, this, this, and this that needs to be worked on, and I think they are.” The friends I have recommended it to have decided to wait until the game gets “some age on it” due to that.

We are not talking about game style, it’s about the problems and limitations.

The rest are exacly what i said. You are special. You can wait. Your friends are normal people, not special as you.

You overcome the problems and have fun, your friends do not have this ability.

I would recomend it to friends, though all my friends are fps/moba types if they even play at all so i actually have no one to recomend it too. I would amend that it can be buggy but i think the devs are trying hard to fix things for us. Heck, they are letting their own profit suffer by locking out new players just to try and fix the game for us. This is the only f2p mmo i’ve ever enjoyed. Other f2p games are p2w, have crazy restrictions and/or care way less about their players then i’ve seen here.

I love the art style, i love the background music, i love all the class options, i love the grind and i love this game. I will be sticking around and watching this game grow, i think it has a lot of potential if people give it the chance.

Except I didn’t mention that?

Not sure what page you’re on,but I thought we were on the same one.

I wouldn’t say that.My friends just don’t put up with BS as long as I do.I haven’t overcome any of my issues with the game,I’ve just done what everyone has done here and made myself home here in the forums, waiting for potential solutions.

My friends look better in comparison.Because while I’m sitting here cheering on a game on life support, they know when to call it quits and find something that doesn’t stress them out or make them sad. This is an ability I do not have.

I think melons point is people have different tolerances. She would rather suggest the game to them when it is in a better state and are there for her friends are more likely to continue playing with her. Rather then recommending it now knowing they will hate the current issues, and could very well leave with no intention of returning.

OHHH. So Special!

That`s why you should do with a large disclaimer. It’s up to them to decide. Not you.

Why are you picking on the Melon because she doesn’t want to tell her friends to come play a game she knows has issues, and perhaps would like them to stick around when the game is fixed. She knows her people better than any of us and is going by her best judgment.

I mean if we look at Tree of Savior history thus far, more people have quit because of the issues than stayed, and are continuing to do so.

I hate reusing images,but:

That’s why IMC should:

  • Keep making improvements to the game

  • Listen to the community more and keep us updated often

  • Advertise their game in more than just Steam and work on repairing their image.

It’s not my job to rope in players for them, much less ones I know that won’t like it.I’m not interested in wasting time, especially with people I actually like.If they did all of these things, the disclaimer wouldn’t even be necessary.

They still can decide. Just in that scenario they wouldn’t learn about the game from you. Were not saying they can’t play if they want to (well currently they can’t but thats a IMC thing) we just wouldn’t be telling them to try it.

Thats the result im afraid of with alot of my friends i got 2 of them playing because they are the patient ones and their happy but as for the others. I feel the result you mentioned would be the same for them.

He should explain what he likes and the problems the game have. It’s up to them to decide.

Inviting friend is one thing. Not recommending is another.

i feel this is an unfair poll because there is no ‘‘Tells random strangers who ask about the game to not play, quit, or write bad steam reviews on it’’ which is what i fall under

Okay I have a good recent example of a conversation I had with friends on my Steam. They have seen I have put in over 500+ hours on the game, but I never planned to bring it up despite them being good friends. Why? Because not only is this style of game not something I’ve generally seen them play, but because of the issues going on. So they asked me how the game was going, what all I do on it, etc. I tell them the positives and lay out the negatives. They decided to try later, because they obviously weren’t that interested anyway if they just didn’t go download it (edit: they didn’t know they couldn’t), and maybe if they play when it doesn’t have so many problems they’ll want to stick around longer.

Why would I bring it up to them? There was no point given the above. I neither invited nor recommended it really, just gave them my opinions when asked and that was that. I already knew them playing right now (even if they could, can’t download it anyway) would end in them just leaving.

Some people just know their friends.

I’d have no problem recommending to friends, already have. Most of them are casuals and the game is fine from 1-200.

How did you go about it? Did you just tell them hey check out this game, letting them jump in and see/find the problems them selves. Or when you recommended it to them did you warn them its kind of a work in progress thing?
