Going for a Fencer power build for easier leveling, I’m divided between these two:
Swordsman > Peltasta > Highlander 3 > Fencer 2
or
Swordsman > Peltasta > Barbarian 3 > Fencer 2
This is mainly because during the second iCBT, while people were mostly playing Barbarians, the Highlanders were actually the broken class, Cartar Stroke is amazing on it’s own without taking too many points because the charge time takes too long, Skyliner and Moulinet were both amazing DPS skills and you got some fillers to spam along. It was simply amazing and very easy to play, I would put it behind the Hoplite + Corsair dual wield build for raw sustained DPS among Swordsmen classes.
The thing I heard is that during the kOBT people were going at least Highlander 2 in most builds, this becoming the new meta, until later people found out that both Moulinet and Skyliner scale poorly at the highest levels. I dunno if the Barbarian is better because of this as apparently their skills scale better, but I haven’t played the thing so I don’t know.
As for Peltasta in the build, anyone should consider it in any PvE build, maybe not as the second class but at some point anyways just because:
