Highlander Crosscut after Patch

I have no idea what they did with it but it seems way weaker now.

I even could access the market now to upgrade my equipment from lvl 40 stuff to lvl 75 stuff and its still doing at least 300 dmg less than befor.

befor i hit for at least 1000 dmg and almost always applied the Bleeding DoT.

NOW i hit for about 700 (with better equipment) and rarely apply the Bleeding DoT.

someone feeling the same or is it just me?

HL got a nerf again? now let me guess. Barabrian didn’t got hit at all, right?
Highlander Skills already have a bad scaling in later game and outside of Catar’s Stroke (which leaves you full of openings) they don’t do as much damage as a barb, and even get kicked of parties for not beign a barbarian that can overkill everything on their site. Is IMC plan to make everyone play Barbarian?
I’ll repeat. instead of nerfing a class. buff it to make it have some value. Clerics, Archers and Wizard needs some buffs.

There’s no point into having a billion classes if only 2 to 3 will be worth using and the skill scaling is horrible.
edit: don’t you ■■■■■■■ dare to say “it is only a beta” to me. if the beta is this unbalanced can you imagine the public release?

Nerfing one tree makes more sense then buffing 3 trees

Just tested it. It’s the same as before. If you noticed some changes it may be because mobs in your new grind zone are resistant to slash attacks. By the way, bleed is applied only to beast, insect, demon and human targets. Golems and trees can’t bleed lol.

80% of swordsmen are already going the barbarian 3 path. if other classes on the tree start getting nerfed there’s no point into running anything that isn’t a barbarian as a swordman. and nerfing everything is not a good option either. if everything gets nerfed even playing with a party all the time will be meaningless since you won’t have the oportunity to explore on your own and killing mobs/completing quests will take more time. thus creating a lame and artificial difficulty. buffing or reworking the classes to make everyone be viable both at parties and at solo playing is a better option than begging for nerf. the game didn’t even released to the public and it is already suffering from power creep. this is just pain bad game design. you beign mad at swordmen and giving a lame reply is already a proof of it.

Its not that the other classes are weak i have played classes from each tree and they can all get to the ~120 range fine (haven’t tested beyond that yet as most classes im interested in start at rank 4 and wanted to try them) But obviously our swordsman overlords don’t want to lose their broken ass numbers.

I don’t wanna lose my ability to crap on things, but because I’m HL2-Barb1, it’s sort of annoying being brought down to the “You NEED to party” levels.

I’m more accepting with the maintenance fixing parties, though.

The most broken part of swordsman is the base class itself.
High attack speed, high normal attack damage, hits several monsters.
Archer hits a single target, Mage hits a single target and needs long cooldown high SP consuming skills to match the damage of 2-3 swordsman basic attacks.

Don’t forget a metric ■■■■ ton of HP with no con commitment

AH, the smell of barbarian mentality in the morning. This is why i just grab a Priest and 3 bar bars to carry me through dungeons lol

Ice Pike 35s CD, 28+ SP consumption, 320 damage
Swordsman basic attack no cooldown, 180-200 damage

barbarian is the one than can get broken numbers dude. highlander while having multi directional hit skills that can hit hard, still gets destroyed in the damage department near a barb. I’m sick of getting KS to death by barbarians and reading “OVERKILL”. while I’m only able to overkill something with catar’s stroke with full charge after applying Pain Barrier to not get the casting interrupted. after that if I want to overkill something again I’ll have to wait 28s I’m running a Swordie > HL3. and the skills are scaling really bad compared to the buffs a babarian have. fist thing I do when a barb shows up near a group of mob that i’m atacking is to use cross cut + sky line to kill them before getting a KS

I used it on non bleed resistant mobs in a area i trained befor the patch. forgot the name but it got these elite mobs with huge swords wich look like pigs <.< right befor the Mausoleum.

Acutally i just play a highlander because my Wizard pisses me off till no end. crappy dmg, high SP cost, long downtime because of SP cost and CD’s, single target basic attack. extremely annoying!
As melee char you do good dmg, your SP lasts way longer with even better dmg scaling, and even if you have everything on CD or you are out of SP you can still slash hordes down with you small aoe Basic attack <.<

they should buff Wiz (and maybe the other classes. dont know about them cuz i didnt play them), instead of nerfing melee…

Why? Cuz you’re jealous of our class doing good damage? We have no range because we are melee, practicly nothing to get out of cc, and one gap closer assuming we don’t run out of stam chasing someone. Don’t be hateful because you see us doing bigger numbers then you…

Classic case of im the one whos broken so don’t nerf me lol.

The point is that our high damage makes up for things we don’t have…that’s not saying “don’t nerf me” , it’s saying take a look at the class mechanics instead of hating on one that you know nothing about.

I have played barbarian so i know exactly what im talking about. Their damage is not justified. A mage should have more damage then a barbarian to make up for the fact they have no hp/defense. A barb has â– â– â– â–  tons of damage, hp, defense, and dodge if you went the full dex build. literally the only excuses they have for weakness are sp (easily handles by pots) and short range (which is not a issue because your fucking invincible)

What the heck? Pure highlanders are way better than barbarians. I have no idea what you’re doing wrong.

No, Its not. Let me tell you why. That war cry buff is too much and That Frenzy topples whatever skill a Highlander can throw at.
Two Hand Mastery coming from a Highlander Rank 1 + Frenzy Lv. 10 is Over powered. Not to mention if you add up War Cry.
