From what Iâve heard C8 Swordsmen are among the top DPS now and Hakkapalle is terrible.

Because they are always having high risk due to being melee and unable to even tank magical attacks without reward? Yeah now they got their reward.
Youâre not telling me other classes that are able to AOE & stay safe while DPSing should be stronger now are you? heck even a cleric could tank & DPS better than a swordsman as far as R7 goes.
Remember that as of now in iToS, the only thing swordsmen can do better than other classes is âprovokeâ, which doesnât even last for long before it asks them to attack the mobs/bosses to keep it, sounds worth it to you?
i mean that swords were so desperate and already had their hopes so low that they assumed that their r8 was the worst, when it turned out to be new META
Its not their, or should I say, our fault.
If you saw the skill preview for Dragoon C2 for example, it was like this:

This was comparable to Gae Bulg, also known as the worst Dragoon skill, for PvE at least.
Later when things got released, it actually deals 16k damage at Lv5, has 2 hits, 2 overheat charges, and 16second cooldown, you canât blame âusâ for being fooled by the false advertising brought by the teaser & GIFs from the devs.
The reasons for the new âmetaâ are last minute changes from IMC, blame them for that mood swing if anything, also, we donât know if âswordsmanâs OPnessâ will last and not get destroyed by rebalance patch/bug fixes.

Also, IMC is doing a terrible job when it comes to class teasers, either they show us something entirely different from the actual skills or use +100 Lolopanther weapons so that every classâs skills deals 80k+, in which case you wonât even be able to tell who is stronger.
