Heres How You Stop Botters/Gold Sellers

Have an active gm on every server banning anyone who spams gold selling stuff through the city’s and channels and on his free time have him check up on reports so he can just ban them faster.

Second and this is a big one so get ready. Institute a no holds barred policy that makes any account that has gotten silver or items from another account that was banned as a bot banned as well.

This would mean that anyone the gold sellers that transfer their silver from any bots to via market, items or some other way will get banned indefinitely.

Show that they will not be tolerated and if you choose to help gold sellers that you need to expect to get banned as well since they broke the rules.

This will stop all or most gold sellers because if they cant get their silver off those bots in any way then they lose and this will make the gold sellers income dry up over time with less and less people willing to risk their accounts.

Its tough banning someone who loved your game enough to spend money on it devs i get that. But if you allow any loophole there will be a flood of people ready to abuse it.

Combined with the system you already have i think this will work rather well although you will need to get rid of the spammers because while half of sites bot the other half just acts as the middleman between a normal player and the one who wants ingame currency.

You need to hit both sides to stop it and you are NOT going to be able to solve this problem if you are lazy and try to add more restrictions to normal players because your just pissing off your fans then.

Well that’s my thoughts on it if they don’t wanna go so insane with restrictions that normal people wont even play tos anymore.

What do you guys think?

Can the GM wear a SS outfit and a tiny Hitler mustache as a second headgear as well?

Seller sells cheap items on market, many people buy because they didnt know this item was sold by a bot, gg players get banned

LIES, according to the OP, only GS and bots buy cheap stuff, normal people buy at higher prices. /end sarcasm.

Ofc! Why should I buy filthy cheap stuff when I could get the expensive ones!? Cheap stuff smells fishy! Must be a bot taking me into captivity, using me as shield!

i think we’ve seen all these ideas before.
they weren’t very well thought out last time, and they aren’t any better thought out this time.

let’s start with the most basic part:
who’s gonna pay those GM’s to sit on the server all day?

2 gm’s per 8h shift (coz bathroom breaks, right?)
3 shifts (coz 24h, we can all do math.)
5 servers (assume more than a couple of days to set up, and SA server will be up by that time)

24h /day * $10/hr * 2 people * 5 servers
that’s $2,400 per day. WHOA, we need to cut that back a bit.

ok lets try 1 gm per server, plus one extra to cover breaks.
and we’ll cut back on the pay because we’re cheap. yea.
24h/ day, $7/hr, 6 people…

there, only $1008/day. that’s not including the extra expenses, like the computer for each of them, and office space, bathrooms, etc…

so, how much did you say you were writing the check for again?

OP expected them to be paid in hats, obv

I was going to say this myself.

You can’t stop gold sellers by targeting the spammers, this will be especially true once ftp hits. They can operate 24 hours a day non-stop. No gm can be that vigilant. You have to either target the bots with the silver or the players buying.

yep, getting rid of the spammers is nice… but it’s really just a convenience issue.

and no -single- GM could be. but i was assuming a team of GM’s set up to operate around the clock. but of course, just like hiring any employee, that costs a pile of money.
