Help with my monk delete or keep?

Ok so i want to play a Monk(dont know why i just want it) i’m lvl 60±

this is the build that i’m aiming for now:

the monstrance lvl 5 was just cuz idk that was such a terrible skill to lvl(thought that would give me more dex with more points)

I was focusing on STR with a little DEX so my points so far are around 30dex 18 cons all the rest is in STR.

So far the build looks terrible to up in comparassion with my ranger or with my friend that is going barbarian.

I need to know, if this monk build is any good, and if i didn’t mess all up with the stats, also only hiting with normal hits is terrible for up(even with +3 Five Hammer).

So the question is:
Should i keep building this to be monk, if following this path so far other build is better(i cant reset my skills till rank3 all is exactly as is in the link), or should i delete and create a new char to be a monk(also is monk really viable, i saw some ppl talking he is pretty bad right now)?

Your stats are fine. Full strength is fine in PvE. In fact, at this moment in pve, str vs dex is practically even, as long as you put points in one or the other your damage will be fine, and any weaknesses can be made up with gear and gem selection.

Full/High strength is weaker than High Dex in PvP though, since you won’t be able to hit Dex builds consistently without gearing/gemming for accuracy.

Skill wise, yes you should reset skill points at 200+. Monstrance is a one point wonder, but not just for that reason.

Early game, you want max Blessing and Sacrament for easy leveling. Late game, the damage to skill point investment ratio becomes terrible, and you only need 3 points in Blessing for the attribute, and one point in Sacrament for the extra auto attack damage line. You won’t even use Sacrament’s damage yourself as you spam Double Punch, its for auto attack builds in your party like Quarrel Shooter Running Shot and Corsair Dual Weapon Assault builds.

Late game you want all the support skills maxed: Mass Heal, Resurrect, Revive, Stoneskin, and Aspersion.

A Monk’s late game role is hybrid support/dps. You bring this into content you either don’t need a full support healer, in order to clear faster through higher party dps, or need a second backup healer while already having a full support. Your main competitors are Druid builds, which are all the rage on this forum right now.

As for your leveling issues - invest in a Cafrisun Set off the market place if you haven’t already. Its 30k for the whole set last time I checked. It will make your life a lot easier as it adds another auto attack that blessing affects.

Here’s something funny. for you.
Here’s my Monk build. (don’t exactly follow it, it’s shameful)

What’s funny/different about it?
I’m lv117 now and I have unallocated 10 skill points in Priest that I have NO certainty of where to allocate. And I literally always have spare points in end of every priest rank because I’m like ‘uh, do I really need to spend points on that skill?’
What does this mean? Sure you can buy a skill reset at the shop, but this is just telling you how much wiggle room you actually have as a priest.

Performance wise? Easily (can be rough if the party is stupid) carried people through lv90/lv115 dungeons as a solo cleric.

Of course if you compare it with ranger or barbarian, we don’t hold much candle for damage. But if you want to go to pure damage - why are you playing cleric in the first place? But if you have ranger or barbarian friends in the first place - hey they better go help you level so you can help them grind longer and faster.

Stat wise, at lv117 I’m STR/DEX/CON at 140/38/42 right now. No issues with soloing (again, slower than other classes) but if I’m solo cleric in party dungeons, my damage got no place - I’m busy buffing.

@acolyte
I do recommend u spent the points u have to spare on the priest to aspersion, my frinds rly appreciate the boost on their def

These are why I’m not spending any more than 1 point in aspersion.
Until I find that any of my unmaxed skills gives me an absolute edge, I’ll keep these 12-13 skill points handy, after all I’m almost at Monk x.x

I saw this topic, but i tested with my friends at low lvl(around 60 like me), the extra % on DEF makes a rly good diference for taking the damages inside the DG, but we still dont have a linker to group the mobs and make easier, the def is rly usefull when mobing since u can see the difference on the hits u take.

But that is my thoughts at lvl 60 and by my understanding with higher lvl should it get better with more %, but idk how the mobs work for rly high lvls so i cant tell.

The sacrament is just a nice flat dmg for low lvl, i dont rly see much diffence in it as well, but for lvl 60 +50dmg on each hit maker a quite nice since i just auto atack.

Don’t forget the buff limit. If you have a maximum of 5 possible buffs, which ones would you pick?
Swordies/Archers have buffs from themselves, and as a Priest3 you’ll have Blessing, Sacrament, Revive, Stone Skin. That’s 4 already. Plus Aspersion and Monstrance, that’s over 5. Plus your party’s own buffs and their own party buffs.

So gotta pick n choose which ones are more important.
