Same Rule as always,
1st you need to decide what class to play at the later ranks (Rank 6/7/8), Then after you decide that:
2nd you decide lower Ranks that will give support to your later Ranks.
3 It’s your choice to choose what you like to play, or if you want the optimal build, that can be something not so funny as you imagined, but much more powerful than you imagined.
About the differences, choose one weapon and will be more easy for people to advise you.
(Two-Handed Sword? Sword and Shield? Mounted Attacker? Two-Handed Spear? Pistols? The list go on)
Also,
The focus of your main will be PvE or PvP?
Since the game don’t have a free Rank Reset (not that I’m complaining), and you don’t know how it will be before you get it, you need to pray to your decision be good and you can’t give up your character build on the middle of the way, because you can ruin it or need to do a re-rool, soooooo, research before you create, specially the Later ranks.
