Help me decide here if its too screwed up for fencer

I currently use this build : http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/unu61aozao/
i am currently rank 4 but when i hit rank 3 barbaria n iintented to do that , i did not used those 9 points of Rank 2 yet.
Still i did not realized that as fencer you use shields and peltasta would be a much better Circle 2.
Also as for stats im something around 100 dex 120 str, ive been told o nbuilds that ddex is better but higher lvl players think that its best to have around 100 dex get crit gems and go str , bc str has a bonus every 10 lvls and gives you hp, which is a minor defense vs magic attacks, while leather and evasion have none.

Is this build too screwed up t ogo for fencer ?
im thinking of squire otherwise. Could work on a corsair but id have to skip barbaria n3 which makes it much less interesting.

Ty for your attention

I’m going pelt 2 rodelero2 fencer since in the fencer tree, you have low cd abilities and you’re spamming flacondalle instead of auto attacking.

If you already spent your skill points, it’s too late to go back, but here are a few tips.

You should have gotten 3 points in bash. It has an attribute to give it knockdown on at that point.

Giant Swing is bad. You can put one point in for fun, but it’s not good. It’s a single-target CC skill that leaves you vulnerable basically. Cleave is your highest damage skill as a barbarian. It does +180% damage to stunned targets. Seism is going to be your other powerhouse skill. Helm Chopper isn’t very good. It has a stun, which is nice, but the AoE is super small on it. Barbarian is getting some buffs on kToS very soon, which hopefully we get soon as well. Once this happens, you will want just one point in Helm Chopper. Other than these points, it looks like you know what you’re doing. Pouncing is mostly a PvP skill though, and people are very mixed on how good it is.

If you’re going this route, I’d consider less dex and more strength. Rapiers have very low base attack to start with, so their damage is low without some good strength to back it up. Yes, Fencer gets some good evasion buffs, but I’m assuming you aren’t going for a tank build here. I would also recommend some Con as well, especially if you plan on doing PvP at all. Most people go 50-100 con for PvP, though that’s entirely up to you, and gear can help offset this anyways. Also, I’m not sure where you heard that Strength gives you HP, but that’s untrue.

Note, you don’t HAVE to use shields as a Fencer. They even have an attribute that increases your damage by +15% (at max rank) on all skills when you’re not wearing a shield. Most people use shields though as Fencers are very often considered a tank.

Oh i did realize later that it could work without shields , but is it meant to work with artifacts and elemental dmg daggers such as arde ? i dont see why youd use with a regular dagger since the rapier is also pierce dmg
Atm i am like the build up to teh 4th circle with 9 barbarian skill points to use. at this point is there any other class that could be fit in this build and work ? Doppel wouldnt be as good without highlander crit on 2h swords, but can work , fencer could work, but it seems it wont be great, theres nothing that helps dragoon, i have some bit of dex for shinobi clones but yet i dunno if its going to be any usefull class.
I could go and sacrifice it making a squire + templar.
any other ideas ?

The major thing you need to decide here is what do you want to do?

PvE tank?
PvE single target damage?
PvE AoE damage?
PvP single target damage?
PvP AoE damage?
Guild Leader?

There’s no one best build for every situation. You need to focus and then go from there. I’ll be glad to help you out, but right now you just need to decide on what you want to be your main priority.

At this point of the build it will either PvE Single Target or AoE, untill i have some solid information on PvP im not stepping there and it seems very unlikely to be a successfull tank now.
Considering the barbarian buffs id say im better suited for Single target or small groups aoe, besides seism all aoe is very little.

So if you want to do PvE damage, that will cut down a bit. Seism AoE is probably bigger than you think though. It’s quite an amazing skill for a Swordsman. I wouldn’t underestimate it. Helm Chopper has awful AoE. Cleave has decent AoE (it’s wide but very short). Seism has a fair amount of AoE. You should check out some videos of Barbarians grinding.

Since you already got 2 full circles in Barbarian, I do recommend getting the third one. The attributes in Barbarian circle 3 make Frenzy and WarCry so much better. It sounds like this is what you wanted to do anyways.

At this point your best option would be to go Doppelsoeldner it sounds like. They offer a lot of AoE damage PvE. They specialize in using 2 handed swords if you go to circle 2. Their main draws are cyclone, which is a spinning AoE attack, and Deeds of Valor, a buff that increases your attack in exchange for defense. The latter is really good with even one circle of Doppelsoeldner.

Fencer is still COMPLETELY viable though. You would be focusing on a rapier + dagger combo most of the time I would imagine, as you are damage focused. This gives you a +15% damage boost to your skills with a Fencer attribute as well. Fencers are mostly single target damage though. That’s fine if that is what you want. They have some good multi-hit skill potential and scale really well with strength.

If you decide to go Doppel, I would strongly recommend going Sword 2 > Barb 3 > Doppel 2. It’s a solid. Most people choose highlander as they have a good passive for 2 handed swords (+50% crit damage attribute, not +50% damage to crits. that’s different), and some solid PvP skills, but this is a fine choice all the same. You’ll be forced into focusing on 2 handed swords, which naturally have very high attack, so pumping a bit of dex is okay here.

If you decide to go Fencer you would probably want to go focus on dual wielding to maximize your damage output. This means you’ll be using rapiers, so you want to focus heavily on strength to make up for their naturally low attack. It also scales well with their +15% damage passive.

If you are very interested in dual wielding, Corsair circle 2 specializes in it. You could go Swordsman C2, Barb C3, Corsair C2. They have a dual wielding skill that allows you to attack with your dagger in their second circle and an amazing damaging skill called Hexen Dropper. This is another class that you’d want to pump Strength on mostly.

You could also choose to go Shinobi. This is, admittedly, a weak spot in my Swordsman knowledge. There aren’t a lot of them around, and I haven’t played one personally. They are frequently considered to be very gimmicky, and most users choose to dual wield with them. There are plenty of users who would be more informative on them than I can be. You would want to pick either Doppel or Corsair as the class leading up to them though, and that is really up to you.

Now you could even choose to mix things up a bit and mix your last 2 classes up. A lot of people take Doppel C1 simplly for the Deeds of Valor buff. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this for Fencer, but it is a good option for Shinobi, and is by no means an invalid option for any class really; even a lot of Dragoons do it.

The main thing I would stay away from here is Dragoon and the other spear classes. Spear classes have great synergy with each other, and since you haven’t picked any, it’s best to avoid them altogether.

Ty for all the info so far i have been thinking about barb 3 fencer 1 shinobi for some time. i wanted to know if shinobi clones could copy any kind of skill, from any class you have or just shinobi skills but its hard to find that since theyre so new. i might go doppel 2 or try something with fencer.

Just one more question , do squires make decent money ?
i wouldnt hurt much to go squire + templar and make a guild while getting money for another character.

Squire can make a ton of money, yes. It is very common for Templars to go Squire to pay for their guild founding costs.
