So if you want to do PvE damage, that will cut down a bit. Seism AoE is probably bigger than you think though. It’s quite an amazing skill for a Swordsman. I wouldn’t underestimate it. Helm Chopper has awful AoE. Cleave has decent AoE (it’s wide but very short). Seism has a fair amount of AoE. You should check out some videos of Barbarians grinding.
Since you already got 2 full circles in Barbarian, I do recommend getting the third one. The attributes in Barbarian circle 3 make Frenzy and WarCry so much better. It sounds like this is what you wanted to do anyways.
At this point your best option would be to go Doppelsoeldner it sounds like. They offer a lot of AoE damage PvE. They specialize in using 2 handed swords if you go to circle 2. Their main draws are cyclone, which is a spinning AoE attack, and Deeds of Valor, a buff that increases your attack in exchange for defense. The latter is really good with even one circle of Doppelsoeldner.
Fencer is still COMPLETELY viable though. You would be focusing on a rapier + dagger combo most of the time I would imagine, as you are damage focused. This gives you a +15% damage boost to your skills with a Fencer attribute as well. Fencers are mostly single target damage though. That’s fine if that is what you want. They have some good multi-hit skill potential and scale really well with strength.
If you decide to go Doppel, I would strongly recommend going Sword 2 > Barb 3 > Doppel 2. It’s a solid. Most people choose highlander as they have a good passive for 2 handed swords (+50% crit damage attribute, not +50% damage to crits. that’s different), and some solid PvP skills, but this is a fine choice all the same. You’ll be forced into focusing on 2 handed swords, which naturally have very high attack, so pumping a bit of dex is okay here.
If you decide to go Fencer you would probably want to go focus on dual wielding to maximize your damage output. This means you’ll be using rapiers, so you want to focus heavily on strength to make up for their naturally low attack. It also scales well with their +15% damage passive.
If you are very interested in dual wielding, Corsair circle 2 specializes in it. You could go Swordsman C2, Barb C3, Corsair C2. They have a dual wielding skill that allows you to attack with your dagger in their second circle and an amazing damaging skill called Hexen Dropper. This is another class that you’d want to pump Strength on mostly.
You could also choose to go Shinobi. This is, admittedly, a weak spot in my Swordsman knowledge. There aren’t a lot of them around, and I haven’t played one personally. They are frequently considered to be very gimmicky, and most users choose to dual wield with them. There are plenty of users who would be more informative on them than I can be. You would want to pick either Doppel or Corsair as the class leading up to them though, and that is really up to you.
Now you could even choose to mix things up a bit and mix your last 2 classes up. A lot of people take Doppel C1 simplly for the Deeds of Valor buff. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this for Fencer, but it is a good option for Shinobi, and is by no means an invalid option for any class really; even a lot of Dragoons do it.
The main thing I would stay away from here is Dragoon and the other spear classes. Spear classes have great synergy with each other, and since you haven’t picked any, it’s best to avoid them altogether.
