[HELP FENCER] Skill Build Advice: (sw/pel/br/fen)

I read a lot from the forums; guides, builds and etc. I ended up customizing my own personal build and I was hoping if I could have some suggestions in balancing the skills. I switched from BR3 to C1 to add some utility (and maybe for future PvP) and bit more mix in my PvE experience. However, I’m still debating whether if I should allocate my skills different or change a circle.
Thank you in advance!

Exactly like my build, great taste, heh.

You need bash at level 3, it’s very handy, trust me.

Fencer: 1 Point in flanconnade is my personal preference, you will have it at Level 3 with venier, which will most likely be your long term weapon.

Remember you spend more sp per flanconnade and it does only a little more damage.

Frenzy: that’s okay, but are you sure you want to spend 10 auto attacks charging your frenzy when you could start slaughtering right away? as a fencer you could have probably done a lot more during that time and at level 5 it only lasts 40 seconds. If this gave you doubts, put the points on helm chopper. If you still like it, go ahead, there’s no problem with it, just preference.

3 points are saved on fencer, why? it’s for fencer C3, we might get a good skill incoming that we would want to max as soon as possible. Even if they’re not good, you either put them on Lunge or Etoiles, or choose a different class entirely.

Thanks for the reply and I appreciate your extensive input! I’ll revise it with your advice.

I do wonder why people put it on 5, I found a guide and most people put it up at this level. Though it does make sense since it’s more utility-based and venier does the trick to up it to 3.

I thought about it and made it from
5 frenzy 5 helm chop -> 0 frenzy 10 helm chop
I mean hey, from what I’ve read, fencers are more skill-based

Oh wait in regards to the last paragraph, I already maxed lunge and etoiles in my build. What would I do with the three points then?

Lastly, do you have any suggestions on how I should raise the stats?

Again, thank you so much!!

Sorry, I meant for fencer C3 when we get to have 15 points in them, or you know new fencer skills.

It’s probably like what people did with oblique shot before, “I should max this skill because I almost always use it!” while that is correct, you would have less sustain on it with your sp pool. If you need damage better get the attributes instead of increasing flanconnade levels.

Stats, depends on what you wanna do.

I use leather and focus on evasion.
While I don’t have a specific stat ratio, it is very near 3 dex:1 str and about 100 total con including items. My con isn’t 100 yet because I’ve been trying to get Peta into Max Peta from dungeons, all talts.

But if you’re asking me about my problems with tanking using leather, none. I have barb CC to protect me, seism mainly and of course my party members. As long as you play it right you should be safe.

Coquillle>Seism>Prep(cancel it)>Sept Etoiles>Lunge>Seism>Cleave x2(if stunned) will be one of your important comboes end game to get a safe etoiles in. Pain Barrier comes in handy when some mobs can knock you down. Dust Devil is another good protection for backup.

Thanks man, it means a lot for the input. I’m taking all in consideration and I feel like I can play the game and know what to do from hereon. If it’s alright with you, could I see your stat window? As of now I’m using a stat calculator but I can’t seem to balance between str, dex, con, and spr (I suppose I need to put spr since fencers are spr dependent)

These stats are perfect currently because I got the last bonus from every point(the part where you get additional point for every X point)

Items used with stats:
Rokas Leather ~ 8 Dex
Zachriel ~ 3 All stats
Venier ~ 19 Spr
Roxona Leather boots ~ 3 con
Vubbe Fighter Gauntlets ~ 10 str
Karacha Dagger ~ 11 dex

never put spr, if you ever got mana pool problems later just use a kranto bracelet

stats may not be as accurate on your calculator due to hidden quests and collections

I’m trying this build, but every time I get confused because of people saying STR > DEX.

So, higher DEX is really the best for Fencer???

Your goal as a fencer is mainly to avoid damage while dealing damage, str benefits fencers less because you can’t deal as much anyway compared to classes like Doppel. The AoE attack ratio on fencer’s skill set would explain that.

And what you lost in str flat damage isn’t that big because you got a pretty nice crit rate. and my str would be significantly higher with 2 Gladiator Bands and Max Petamion, which I do not have yet.

@Lostac hey, can i ask you whats your level? and - is barb c2 a helpful class? i ask because i keep hearing people saying barb is only good at c3… but i allways seem to end up thinking it can work great just as a c2 filler between pelt and rank 5-6-7 class choices

so i wanted to know whats the dmg output of seism at lvl 5 ? and same for cleave? and what are your overall thoughts on this subject.

cheers!

I’m 275 atm, could be 280 but I don’t like wasting all my time grinding on maven.

I believe that is a preference, I’ve played Barb so many times in different class variants and I would say that for fencer barb 2 is definitely enough. Barb 3 is something more worth considering if we get ktos buffs (warcry cooldown reduction) or if you are going doppel.

Seism at Lv5 is more than enough for the damage, I use it mostly to stun and position monsters for my prep-etoiles combo. for cleave later on there will be monsters that are immune to stun so the combo isn’t always reliable, but it still does a good 9k-14k burst with Lunge and warcry assist, with better results if I get the damage enchance attributes.

what do u think of this build? is it more or aa or skill spam build http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/4pfhguqfj2/

The moment you pick fencer is the moment you realize you will do a lot less auto attacks.

Also IMO the build is a little weird on fencer and corsair area, would be better to take some points away from Dust Devil and put them in JR to max it, and avoid Esquive toucher on fencer, better put them on Coquille

damage difference of Lv5-10 dust devil is very small and esquive toucher doesn’t last long+has long cooldown

is it too late to go tanky fencer? im currently barb 1 pelt 1…

so do u think overall, that build has a good potential solo farm until 200+ and can clear maps, quests fast?

What? why? I’m Lv 275 with Pelt-barb-corsair and I tank fine in Maven using leather, all you need is a decent team+enough con. for other content I have not really tried yet but Maven will be your last grinding area for now

Yes, but for clearing maps fast archers are probably better at it.

can u link me ur build?

I’m planning something like this too.

Question:
When we should use Flanconnade and Attaque Composee???

@Off
I’m thinking about dropping Fancer and going Corsair for Double Weapon Assault.
Would it be a good build?

Attaque Composee is used almost all the time when lunge and sept etoiles are on cooldown and monsters are weak VS pierce attacks.

Flanconnade is when you need to block, or the same usage as Attaque Composee, but this time on Cloths.

Flanconnade blocking is fun

It isn’t bad because you get Hexen Dropper too which is superior when compared to sept etoiles, but I’m aiming for Fencer C3 which is why I skipped corsair c2.

You should probably get frenzy if you are getting corsair c2, easy to charge frenzy with DWA.

I guess I’ll keep with Fencer.

TY

does hexen also applies with skills or its just a AA buff
