Help: describing more precisely some Barbarian and Fencer skills

Hello everyone.

I made a new Swordsman and I will make him a Peltasta 1, Barbarian 3 and Fencer 2. But when I tried to figure out how to distribute my skill points, I found that some skill descriptions lack important information, even in the databese.

More precisely, I am in doubt whether I favor Warcry or Frenzy, and how many points to put in Cleave and Helm Chopper, for example. If someone could answer some of my questions, I would really appreciate it. They are:

1) I know Cleave grants me +50 in Critical Rate. But how long does that buff lasts? Does it scale with the level of Cleave?

2) Cleave deals more damage to stunned foes. By how much does the damage increase? Does it scale with the level of Cleave?

3) What types of attack increase my stacks of Frenzy? I will maximize Sept Étoiles, and I wanted to know whether it grants me fast Frenzy stacks.

4) What exactly happens when the Frenzy buff ends? All the stacks are lost?

5) By how much exactly does Warcry increase my attack for each enemy caught in it?

6) How big is the stun chance in Seism? Does it scale with the level of Seism?

7) Does Flanconade protect me against multiple monsters hitting me at once? Does that protection always work? Does anything Flanconade gives, besides damage, scale with level?

8) How does Preparation work, exactly? It increases my block rate (?) only during its channeling? Do the channeling time and the amount of block increased by it scale with its level?

Well, since I got the opportunity, I have some strategic questions too. I want only PvE with this character, so I plan to do a lot of party quests. With that in mind, I will be really thankful if you guys could help me with the following:

9) Is it good to put many points in Helm Chopper, in order to enhace its damage, since as a Fencer I won’t have many strike damage sources?

10) Should I take Attaque Composée to profit more from Attaque Coquille?

11) When in dungeons, will my party profit more from Warcry or Frenzy?

Thanks a lot for reading. Any other thing you might want to tell me is welcome.

Well, I still think this is important, so I’m bumping this post.

Bump. =/

  1. i think that just means it adds +50 Critical rate when using the skill.

  2. i think you get 150% additional damage.

i cant really answer anything else

  1. Doesnt Scale, cant remember exactly how long it lasts, but it wasnt long, definitely under 20 sec.
  2. A lot more, like 2.5x. Doesnt scale
  3. Only basic attacks
  4. All stacks are lost.
  5. Its increased by how much defense you reduced including all enemies affected. Looks good but its not, the Aoe is really small, has a long cast animation, and 82 sec cd.
  6. Doesnt Scale. I would say its around 50%, but i am not sure of this.
    7-8) Dunno
  7. I wouldnt put much points in that, the dmg is honestly dissapointing.
  8. Dunno
  9. As a Barb3>Doppel i almost never use Frenzy. Having to autoattack 10 times to get the full buff is too much, most mobs are dying by the time u finished stacking it, and changing targets drops the stacks by half. Its somewhat useful in bosses. I think warcry is better if you can affect many enemies at once.

It grants +50 critical rate only when you hit with Cleave.

You do x2 damage.

Basic attacks.

All stacks are lost.

Attack is increased by the amount of enemies affected and by the skill level. At max level with the attribute and targeting 10 mobs, you gain +330 physical attack.

The wording is a bit weird here. I think you mean what’s the stun chance of Seism. It’s around 50%.

Yes, it’s perfectly viable to level up helm chopper if you want strike damage.

Your party doesn’t benefit from it. You benefit from it. You should be using warcry on groups of mobs and using frenzy vs bossing.

5 Seconds +50 Flat critical rate buff lasts 5 seconds, does not scale

about x2.5 all levels

Not sure about the stun chance but it’s fairly high, I suggest maxing it because that will be one of your very few high attack ratio skills.

Yes block rate increase is only active while you are channeling. Scales but badly

Yes, I have barb 2 fencer and I have 10/10 Helm Chopper.

Yes, I had a video posted here somewhere showing Prep-Etoiles and Attaque Composee, some people don’t consider attaque composee and that’s a mistake.

They will profit from the defense decrease of the mobs on warcry but that’s only a little

I can answer number 10 for you.

Attaque Coquille is VITAL for your build, at least to give it 100% up time (3-4 points).

Attaque Composee spam + Sept Etoiles + Lunge become your main sources of damage late game - NOT Flanconnade, which is a 1 point wonder skill, its only used to tank really. As monster def gets higher at later levels Coquille just gets better and better, especially since you will be CON+High DEX, ignoring defense will be your best way to increase damage.

Thank you so much, guys! This is great work for the community!

Attaque Coquille can increase your damage by a lot (it can double your damage on some monster), level it till it have matching duration and cooldown (lv4).

Coquille also can give your party huge damage boost, if the party composed on pierce type class. like archer or spear wieldinge swordman.
it can kill boss realy fast, though there also boss that immune to the Armor nullification status.

Barbarian might be a good way to go class for DPS fencer, but the class itself is underwhelming.
Frenzy were only usefull against bosses, and even then the stack can expired if you keep spamming skill, you need to ocasinaly use AA inbetween.
Warcry armor reduction were neghihible at most, cause you can keep the enemy in ignored armor state using coquille spam. And I dont think the armor reduction debuff +coquille can result in negative values that will add to the damage. <-- CMIIW
Cleave 50% Crit were only last 3 second, 6 second with overheat. and in most cases -its not that impresive

Seism and chooper is the true bread and butter why you should took barbarian path for fencer. it have huge damage, AOE and providing CC that the fencer class is lacking.

Im on Barb c3 Fencer, and IMO I think Barbarian C3 were kinda wasted. If I can rerrol, I wanna left it at C2 and go to Diffrent path

Correct, Barb C3 is more of a glorified warcry and frenzy, with pouncing that you’ll probably take at Lv1 for bonus, but if warcry damage and frenzy si what they’re after it’s not that bad. I took Barb 2 > Cor 1 > Fencer 2

yeah I think Corsair is better in most cases.

Though in my theory crafting, I wanna try AA Fencer Build
since both main and sub weapon are piercing weapon. they will be benefited from Coquile spam.

I myself go Fencer-Templar
IMO Fencer 2 were not that great, better DPS heavy route might be going Fencer > Dopler
Valor can grant 50% Dmg Increase, comboed with Coquile armor Null it should result in very high damage

ofc this just my theory crafting part. since I dont plan on making another Fencer lol

Yea, currently fencer c2 isn’t that great, though I am risking it for Fencer C3.
