Hello! New player with quite few annoying questions

So, as the title says. I’m a new player and I’m trying to gather as much information as possible before me and my friends jump into this game seriously, and make it our new main MMORPG. As you guys probably know this game has quite bad reviews all over the place. But I still find it very interesting and fun looking. I’ve played in the past games which were rated as rubbish and in reality they were completely fine.

I’d really appreciate if anyone could give me some simple answers on the following questions I have.

  1. How bad the P2W truly is? Is it game breaking or something what is barely noticable.
  2. How is the PvP? I think I’ve seen some 5vs5 arena. But that was pretty much it. Is there anything else?
  3. Is there any class which is considered as completely useless and trash?
  4. Is there any class which is considered as most OP/easiest and half of the playerbase plays it cause of that?
  5. Is there any endgame content? If yes, what is it? PvE or PvP, maybe both?
  6. Are the servers still lagging as before? I remember very laggy servers and random FPS drops a year ago.
  7. I love classes with high attack speed and decent burst(damage numbers flying all over the screen and stuff). But after watching tons of gameplay videos on YT I couldn’t find anything like that. Any idea ?
  8. How much does ping matter in this game? (got around 20-45ms)
  9. Does the publisher listen to it’s own playerbase and maybe implements from time to time some good suggestions? Or everything is copy paste from KR and they literally don’t care what anyone thinks about the game.
  10. Overall… is this a competitive game or it’s more about leveling to 330 in a week and then sitting AFK or maybe doing boring daily quests.
  11. Honestly, would you recommend this game to someone who plans to invest around 7-8h everyday into playing it.

That’s all. Hopefully someone who is bored will show up and answer some of these.
If there’s anything important to know about the game then feel free to let me know. (i know it’s a grind fest)

as long as you never inspect somebody equipment, you wont feel envy. Turn off [show other people dmg] option too. Anything is buyable in this game, whether using your real money or real time

  1. If we talk about p2w, we can breakdown those into two, pve and pvp. In pve, yes it game breaking. You need to boost up your gears like enhancing weapon, transcending it (if you are DPS) in order to do endgame content like Earth Tower. In pvp, ofc it has advantage to win more matches but since the combat patch came it is rather balanced because everyone can kill anyone, even whales. So, for pvp it’s barely noticable.

  2. Pvp is kinda broken now because of high skill factor from skills, letting some class could one-shot you with tons of damage if you have good weapon and transcended. There are things to counter this, like kabbalists, or clerics with damage mitigators. For me, what’s annoying for the TBL (arena) is the matchmaking. Sometimes, it matches you with random players which underclassed (rank 5-7) or simply ungeared or being matched with 5 clerics all support without dps at all while another team is all dps without cleric.

  3. Any class has its own benefit if you understand their main purpose in the game. For example, pardoners for selling buffs and scrolls, squires for repairs and maintenances, alchemists for making potions, etc. Ofc they are useless when to play endgame content like Earth Tower, but they are useful for particular thing.

  4. These are called meta because they’re easy to play or simply powerful or only require few investment but still viable. You can start looking for information about chaplain build which is popular right now, or shinobi for the best burst in the game. For pvp, clerics are considered the best class because of counters, healing and dealing damage. Try doing research for kabbalists, inquisitors, oracles, and sadhus.

  5. Yes. Earth Tower to obtain legendary equips with set bonuses, doing world boss hunting for loots and cards. For pvp, maybe only do TBL for the moment. Sadly, gvg is suspended by IMC, but you can do open world gvg in the field if you want to do some skirmishes with another guild.

  6. Some lags are still there but its way better now. You could barely notice it.

  7. I recommend researching machine guns build like Quarrel shooter 3 or Schwarzer reiter 3. They are good example for high attack speed and high mobility.

  8. Ping mainly affects your attack speed. I dont recommend playing a class that relies on attack speed if you have a high ping.

  9. Some cases they are listening. Most contents are copy-paste from KR, but we had some different events also.

  10. It depends, you can be competitive if you want to jump into TBL (arena). It has ranking system as well.

  11. Hmm, maybe i’d recommend. As long as you’re fine with its design and mechanics like dailies, dpk drop system, and few restrictions like entry limit/trading.

Not really existent in any way that matters or affects anyone

  2. How is the PvP? I think I’ve seen some 5vs5 arena. But that was pretty much it. Is there anything else?
PvP is currently awaiting changes to 3v3 with parties allowed to pre-make, as well as a rebalance.

  3. Is there any class which is considered as completely useless and trash?
Not really. You can make builds that are trash though.

  4. Is there any class which is considered as most OP/easiest and half of the playerbase plays it cause of that?
    Elelock. Doppel. Falconer.

  5. Is there any endgame content? If yes, what is it? PvE or PvP, maybe both?
PvE only right now. The PvP isn’t developed enough to be considered endgame until updates

  6. Are the servers still lagging as before? I remember very laggy servers and random FPS drops a year ago.
    No

  7. I love classes with high attack speed and decent burst(damage numbers flying all over the screen and stuff). But after watching tons of gameplay videos on YT I couldn’t find anything like that. Any idea ?
    You want an Archer2>QuarrelShooter3>Falconer3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LW1OWorJK4Y

  8. How much does ping matter in this game? (got around 20-45ms)
That’s an exceptionally good ping and it matters towards auto attack speed

  9. Does the publisher listen to it’s own playerbase and maybe implements from time to time some good suggestions? Or everything is copy paste from KR and they literally don’t care what anyone thinks about the game.
    They do lately.

  10. Overall… is this a competitive game or it’s more about leveling to 330 in a week and then sitting AFK or maybe doing boring daily quests.
Competitive? No it’s absolutely not a competitive game.

  11. Honestly, would you recommend this game to someone who plans to invest around 7-8h everyday into playing it.
If you spend that long playing everyday you’ll burn out and quit.

  1. imo theres some, but not enough to make anybody leave.

  2. theres a 2v2 also. the thing is that the and counters are mad powerful in this game. (idk about cc but last time i played it was). hunters, squires, cataphract, and corsairs can perma bind you. kabbalist can render you useless, and sage renders an entire class branch useless. without those probelms, most ranged classes can one shot you.

3.there used to be. with the combat patch classes were better. theres some seriously bugged classes though that you shouldnt take, like krivis, hunter(?) and then some underperforming classes like rodelero (last time i checked it was, idk now), paladin (due to c2 being completely useless and barrier being scrollable)

  1. thaumalinkerff2, not op but everyone plays it because it gives good loot. swartzer rieter is very strong. elememe. p3>chap .

5.not that much but the end game isnt really end game bcuz the real end game is aroubd level 600 i think.

  1. there was a really laggy update a few days ago

  2. i dont know but archer classes would probably be your best bet.

8.for some classesit matters

  1. they leave some subjects alone some times and other times they get on it. like sadhu was broken (like litterally not even working) since release until the combat update a month ago, so for a year it was broken and imc didnt really do anything. but at release there was a crzy moment where they wanted to charge for a 3 month ea to a open beta and everyone was mad and they listened. so yea.

10.competing for DPK is pretty competeive lol

  1. no, you will get bored really fast because youll be doing the same thing in game every day for 7 hours. if you want to play dont put in that much dedication lol

How bad the P2W truly is? Is it game breaking or something what is barely noticable.
It’s noticable, sadly. You can market shop items for insane in-game silver gains and use those gains to literally buy the best gear the game has to offer. How does this affect you? Not much, not yet anyway. In PvP it will and soon in the World Boss revamp you might not get anything out of world bosses when wallet warriors come and snatch the kill under everyone’s noses. Most people don’t really care about the pay to win, because it’s fairly limited in how far you can push a character. Even with insane gains you can’t solo ET for example. You can’t “grief” other people with insane gear. Not yet anyway.

How is the PvP? I think I’ve seen some 5vs5 arena. But that was pretty much it. Is there anything else?
Right now there’s 2v2 and 5v5. Guild wars were in the game but removed, due to being a joke and being exploited on. You can also go to war with another guild for funsies, opening PvP in every map of the game. Only GvG in the past used to give players free TP. This was removed because guilds started forming alliances and “win trading”, also making guilds with 1 person in them to forfeit on purpose. It was a joke.

PvP overall is also a joke. There is almost no class balance at all.

Is there any class which is considered as completely useless and trash?
Not really, every class has its uses. However you can make “costume collector” builds that have 1 circle of every class and that would be ultimate trash. Right now though there are a few classes that have almost no combat utility like Alchemist or Oracle, well good ones. A lot of classes that are good for shops and crafting, but outside those functions they are trash. Some classes have 1 or 2 good skills and rest are a broken mess.

Is there any class which is considered as most OP/easiest and half of the playerbase plays it cause of that?
Cleric.

Is there any endgame content? If yes, what is it? PvE or PvP, maybe both?
There is no end game PvP. There is end game PvE which is Earth Tower. It’s not hard, just requires heavy time investment. Think of making 1 or 2 items will take you 30 days of your life, non stop, farming in one instance, over and over and over again and some runs can take up to 2 hours (Solmiki) and you do 2 of those per day.

Are the servers still lagging as before? I remember very laggy servers and random FPS drops a year ago.
Nope, but “”"“fun”""" bugs happen from time to time and channels do crash.

I love classes with high attack speed and decent burst(damage numbers flying all over the screen and stuff). But after watching tons of gameplay videos on YT I couldn’t find anything like that. Any idea ?
SR on Archers and Corsair on Swords. Clerics have PD2 for large AoE damage ticks and Wizards have Elementalist for big AoE burst.

How much does ping matter in this game? (got around 20-45ms)
A lot, especially if you want to attack fast. How fast you can attack depends entirely on your ping and attack speed stat.

Does the publisher listen to it’s own playerbase and maybe implements from time to time some good suggestions? Or everything is copy paste from KR and they literally don’t care what anyone thinks about the game.
Exactly as you said. The international playerbase is often ignored. For example the Leticia “pay to win” cube was added to our version despite a huge chunk of the playerbase voting actively against it. Only Koreans are listened to I’m afraid.

Overall… is this a competitive game or it’s more about leveling to 330 in a week and then sitting AFK or maybe doing boring daily quests.
No daily quests, just daily dungeon runs. You can never AFK as there’s always too much to do, depending of course on how many characters you make but you’ll never find yourself AFK due to “nothing to do”, but you will find yourself AFK for being “burned out” for doing the same Saalus day in and day out for some stupid shards that are end-game.

Honestly, would you recommend this game to someone who plans to invest around 7-8h everyday into playing it.
If you have that much time to waste then yes. You’re one of the few people out there who can get to end-game gear without any real $ investment. Most, if not all, high tier equipped players simply use botting / multiple accounts / cash shop “marketing” / gold buying / guild features etc. to become filthy rich. For everyone else, there is the dailies and map farming for raw silver and hard to get DPK drops.

Getting rich isn’t hard in TOS. Staying rich is.
