Hello everyone. Newbie here

Hi guys. Just downloaded the game but couldn’t connect yet because I’m at the office :stuck_out_tongue:

But I’ve been watching lots of videos to know where to start.
I’ve learned about classes, ranks, circles, skills, attributes, enhacement, gems and stuff.

I’ll surely go for a Wizard. I’ve been looking at some public builds and found that these two seem to be the most popular ones.

As far as I understand those seem to be buils for late game, considering that AOE and good damage skills are learned or maxed at high ranks.
I don’t think these are good builds for a newbie.
I’m still a little confused about how a build will end up being PVP or PVE but I guess I’ll figure it out when I start playing.
Anyway it would be awesome if you can share me some builds for a noob wizard, guess mostly for solo and PVE.

I would recommend reading the news section and patches to be up to date and all that, also there are “official” threads for almost all the classes so you can search for the ones you are interested in at the moment…

also, remember that ITOS and KTOS are different and that we will be soon in maintenance time (cant obviously play during maintenance hours)…

as for build, I have tried all 3 wiz, pyro an cryo… so far my favorite is cryomancer but it all depends on your play-style…

ToSbase might not have a perfect representation of the class but is good to play around the skill simulator all you can :slight_smile:

Rune Caster has 2 years Cool down.

Ele/Warlock is not as strong as it used to be, but still alright. But Wiz3 for a beginner might be hard.

I suggest trying Pyro/linker first for easier leveling until you can figure out what you really want.

Pyro is also quite strong now and viable in late game compare to before because of the agny necklace.
(new item that increase fire damage and pyro get buff by around 3-4 time is damage with this thing.)

Runecaster might have a little comeback with the buff of RuneOfGiant comming, but… I think it will mostly be some pvp build because of the absurb amount of defence it give.

Ele/warlock was amazing (Godly) at Rank 7 (When Rank 8 wasn’t out) Alot change inbetween and what you see now are probably some older build from this time or early Rank 8.

I try to say it in short… (This is my oppignion)
-Wizard Rank 8 aren’t as good damage dealer compare to other class.
-Wizard have many viable support path.
-Pyro is now viable at Rank 8 because of what said previously making him a solid Damage dealer. (Can compare to other Rank 8 Dps)

Hey man! hope you have fun in this journey, but If you want to go wizard, as all the above, I would greatly recommend Wiz1-Pyro3-Linker2-(and last 2 ranks you can choose whatever you really want depending your playstyle but many go thaumaturge 2). Try that wiz build to start with because its super easy and powerful at the moment. Once you get the Agny necklace, its amazing damage (even at late end game lv330).

Do you have any build to share for Pyro/Linker?

Also, I see that most of players just say Wiz3, Pyro/Linker but not much details about how many points on each skill and that.
Guess that it becomes obvious with experience on the game but is there any pattern or something of skills that shouldn’t be used or osmething like that?

Thank you, but there is something I dont understand:
You talk about wizard rank 8 and Pyro rank 8 but isn’t wizard for the 3 first ranks and pyro for the next ones?

This is referring to the viability of those said classes at rank 8 content (post lv 280).

I would recommend you post in the class forums as those are going to be a bit more focused and populated by people that actually play the game.

General Discussion is a bit of a swamp at the moment.

Wizard is R1 Class but you can go wizard 2>3 on rank 2-3 (Or later if you whant)
Pyro is a R2 Class but for Rank 3 and 4 you can chose it to reach pyro 3

What i mean is… At Rank 8. Pyro is still more than viable.
Meanwhile some R8 Dps Mage class aren’t as good…

thats exactly what im doing but im doing pyro 3 instead of linker 3, with linker 2 u have enough. Its better to max pyro to get the most dmg.

Yes, do pyro 3 instead of linker 3.

So you will end up with pyro3/linker2.

As for rank 7+, I can’t answer that. But I know warlock isn’t as strong as it used to be. Most people go for thauma (i think for the money).

But as for myself, I am going with either RC/Sage or link1/Necro3. For no other reason, other than I like it.

But Dont worry, at rank 6, you will already have a general idea about the different wizard classes.

If you love to support, Chrono3>Sage is a op funny build.
Everyone loves chrono+sage. It’s easy to find late game party.

Pyro1>Link2>Chrono3>Sage - easy leveling , average damage
Cryo3>Chrono3>Sage - Ultimate late game supporter

I was checking the skills and yep, I agree, Pyro 3 instead of Link 3.

One last question guys.
Anyone remembers the base stats for wizard? I’m adding int and spr but just forgot how it started to know how many I have added of each.
Also, some good tips for how many int, con and spr for that build I commented before?

Bro, no one is going for Spr :slight_smile: SP pot answers all your SP problem. You won’t have any SP problem at the first place (only archers with 0 cooldown skill do). And for mdef, you can have those from gear and Nuele card–hopefully you have read about card system. Only full support clerics go for Spr.

Anyway, if you have ever heard about instanced dungeon level 145 (going to be level 170 with future update), that is the place you’ll be farming for silver. About wizard, I’m doing well with Wiz1Pyro2Linker2Thau2 for farming purpose, 600k silver per 30-40 mins, with less than 5m cost to build the character. You can read a thread called “Hollow Thorn Forest Info” and see the first reply post for example. Hollow Thorn Forest is the name of the dungeon, anyway.
