Have the requirements for an overkill changed?

Hey folks. I decided to whack some hanamings around for overkills, but even my strongest hits don’t seem to count. My regular attacks do about 370, and a buffed attack skill does 900 (I’m a swordie > swordie > barb). Am I really just not hitting hard enough yet or is something different with overkills?

Edit: I’m presently level 63 by the way.

Edit 2: I’ve since been able to start hitting overkills on certain enemies at level 90 with really strong skills, but it’s never really clear which ones and why.

i think the overkill mechanic has been terminated bc it wasnt fair for people goin support builds

I’ve seen archers and mages land overkills, and the achievement still exists for 10,000 overkills, so I’m pretty sure it’s still implemented.

That was my intent, but I’m still not hitting hard enough for a hanaming (I think they have like 30 HP?) So I just wanted to know if something is different now.

nope you still need to play highlander/barbarian to overkill for days.
Everyone else can go and cry in a corner.

hmm…I’m not in-game rn, but last night I remember getting several overkills when I’m using spells on chupacabras(?) (around that area, cleric is around lvl 18) but not with physical attacks…
is the mechanic based on level gap, base atk or anything of the sort?

You use normal attack or use skill ?

Overkill need Skills to apply right ?

In the iCBT at least, I was able to get overkills with my basic attack.

Yeah, noted it in the opening post. Used Helmsplitter while buffed and did 900 damage, still nothing.

Maybe level penalty apply to overkills now ?
past this 3days while you leveling you never saw you or someone have overkills ?

I was wondering if that was the case. I’ve seen people make overkills, mostly just Wizards and Archers. But yeah, I asking here to see if anyone knows anything more.

Seriously? I haven’t caught wind of this change and here I was doing a bunch of overkills for EXP .__.

I’ve had tons of overkills on my Wiz­ > Cryo > Cryo, and I don’t hit that hard yet (lvl 47, hitting around 950)
