Has any one experience auto fail on upgrages?

so this is what happened. I was about to upgrade my +10 to +11 and I hit my anvil 2 times. Gonna wait for a couple of mins to hit the anvil but 2 hits in the anvil the weapon upgrade failed. Is this a legit ingame mechanic or is this a bug?

It got cold. Of course it was going to fail -do you even forge bruh-

Now seriously, bump. I wanna know too. I probably would’ve tried the same if it was my end game equipment.

Happens to me all the time. No idea why.

Bump as well. I’m not sure if I’m seeing it right but sometimes I fail my enchant on the 2nd hit. Since the anvil has to go through three strikes to succeed, does the published success rate chance based off of each strike or a cumulative total?

Has this been discussed before?

It’s legit, the way it actually works is that each of the 3 hits have an individual success rate. For +6 on weapons, the success rate for each hit is 96% (giving you a global succes rate of 88%). If it fails on any single hit, it will show that and the process will stop.

This means that past +10, what you’re truly up against is 3 successes in a row at 80% chance (combined rate of 51%).

This actually makes getting those supposedly legit +15 with no potential lost even less believable, because you’re not up against 10 tries (including 5 coin tosses), instead you have to get 30 successes in a row. Granted, none of which are under 80% succes rate, but the larger the sample amount, the more results will normalise…

Hope this helps!
