I’m not nitpicking or playing definitions. The event doesn’t benefit an AFKer. That’s not unreasonable.
Spot on correct. It is fine that one event be not as good as another event. Not only is it fine, it is inevitable. That being said, this event is much better than the previous one in regards to its rewards, which is MUCH more appropriate.
Battle bracelets? One of the most difficult to acquire items in the game? More experience than most players earn in an entire day of playing? Get real. The Halloween event was a total flop in this regard.
I don’t defend IMC, I just bash on stupid.
Most players idea of a better event is a more rewarding one. If you keep increasing the reward of your events, you’re going to kill the value within your game real quick. ToS is already especially vulnerable to older content becoming irrelevant. Nexon is a repeat offender.
You used the word ‘quality’. Let’s talk about quality. The Halloween event was a short dungeon. It used the existing dungeon infrastructure, existing maps, and existing enemies. It put these blocks together in an interesting an engaging way. Pretty good if you ask me.
The harvest event has us growing seeds. It probably uses the existing farming infrastructure (which can be harvested by anyone), on existing maps, probably with existing art assets. These blocks were put together in a way that probably isn’t as engaging, but is far less intrusive. This is a lighter event. That’s really all there is to it.
Asking for an up and up kind of pattern with events is like asking for you to make longer and longer posts with every post you make. It’s not appropriate.
Consider this: if the crops withered and died if you didn’t harvest it at the correct time, the result would be no different than if a random player stumbled on your unattended and ready to harvest plant. Yet there wouldn’t be nearly as much backlash. People are being completely unreasonable about this.
Let’s remember that you can completely skip the growing the plant step completely and get a pretty good reward for as much effort as it takes to talk to the event board.
