Gung Ho and Concentrate 5 worth the effort/hotkey slot?

I’ve read that both skills are still kind of worth getting at Swordsman c1, at least compared to Bash and Thrust. Has anyone considered ditching them for other minuscule reasons like for the sake of saving sp, focusing more on your surroundings/more important things, and having other valuable hotkeys ready in place of these? I just can’t picture a high level character prioritizing these two little swordsman skills, at lvl 5, nearly every time before they attack.

If you were to go your entire character’s life without using GungHo and/or Concentrate, would it really make that much of a difference? Call me lazy, but it almost seems as though we have to babysit these skills at their lower levels. There are times when you’d want to get as much damage as possible, but other than that they seem almost like burdens before you can attack anything at all.

Maybe the damage payoff is worth simply clicking these skills, but I thought I’d offer another perspective. I’m probably wrong overall, especially considering the +50/+100 enhancement, but I thought I’d bring it up anyways.

110 dmg from concentrate and 110 damage of gun ho.
So that it is 200 damage that u arent doing per skill or attack.or if u want other point,200 damage is more or less as 200 str as those useless bufs are as 200 str that u are losing only for be lazy

I think both of them are pretty good with attribute lv 50… they give about 200 dmg per hit… now my lv157 hoplite still use it all the time.

They’re OK with their attributes maxed. Not amazing, but OK (though they’re really good if you can max their attributes early on. Most people don’t have the silver, though). The other skills aren’t exactly mindblowing either.

I can’t speak for anything but the Barb/Doppel route but I’d max both Gung Ho and Concentrate and then take three points in Bash (so you can buy the knockdown attribute, and have on-demand knockdown).

One point in pain barrier, which IMO is pretty much a necessity… at mid-late game (post 150) you’re going to get smacked around by every boss you fight, and Pain Barrier will let you unload your attacks on a boss without getting interrupted, barring a few annoying skills. Nothing is more annoying than waiting for something like Cyclone to come off its long cooldown, only to get smacked into air right as you use it and waste an attack. Practically every boss has knockdown attacks so Pain Barrier actually turns out to be invaluable (the alternative is to waste time and lower your DPS by running around to avoid knockdown attacks and trying to find a safe place to unload your attacks). As 1 point gives you 15 seconds I don’t think 4 points for 4 more seconds is worth it, so I’d leave this at 1.

Maybe one in Thrust. Maybe not. If I ever respect, I’m going to skip this. It’s a piercing skill and possibly the only one you’ll get if you go the Barb/Doppel route, but it’s so weak that IMO it’s usually better to just use normal skills. Even the multiple thrust proc only has a 5% chance to trigger when its attribute is maxed. Fortunately it’s got a 0 second cooldown so you can “spam” it (I say “spam” because it’s a very slow attack).

So long story short, I feel the best set-up if you’re going the Barb/Doppel route is:
5/5 GungHo (but make sure to max its attribute)
5/5 Concentrate (same)
1/5 Pain Barrier
3/5 Bash (for the knockdown attribute)
1/5 or 0/5 for Thrust

Concentration is flat damage at the end of attacks, which is pretty cool. Low cooldown for extra damage.

Gung Ho is a LOT more valuable. Much longer duration, no hit count, cast and forget to get a notable damage boost. The most important thing about Gung Ho is that it is physical damage, and so therefore goes into all calculations before multipliers, etc., such as armor type, elemental weakness, attributes, and so on.

Just how much is 70 extra physical attack?

It’s the same as upgrading the highest level weapons in the game currently three more times, and then some over. Or the same as wearing in many cases two more stat hats. It’s a lot of things, in terms of gear efficiency.

Its worth with max attribute

And concentrate is really good bonus damage

When you use multi hit skill its only count as one atk

So if you use with stabbing or cyclone

Its 1000+ bonus dmg
