Hello Everyone!
As we near the opening of the super-awesome beta, I want to give you an idea of what you could do/report to help the translation effort, as well as what these things could mean.
Things to report:
If you see a:
’$’ at the start of a line - We used ‘$’ to mark lines that have been checked and written by hand (not machine). If it shows up, then it means IMC missed some when they were cleaning up the file for the Beta.
{nl} or [nl] - It’s supposed to be a full-bracketed {nl}. If it misses a bracket it will show on the dialogue of course. [nl] is obviously wrong.
{memo x} - IMC uses this to tell us translators what lines are obsolete and no longer used in game. If these show up they will likely have outdated names and bad grammar/spelling. Report these so IMC knows these lines are still being used somehow.
$NoData$QUEST_UNUSED… - Similar to above. IMC keeps this “UNUSED” lines file and it’s rather funny whenever the game uses and “unused” line. Report as you would the above scenario.
Things that would help:
Screenshot every line of dialogue for Class Change Quests
We may have been able to do the main quests, but obviously no one can go through literally every combination of class quests. I only played archers/rangers so far.
Take a bunch of screenshots, upload them to imgur or something and PM me a link titled “Quest for (class name) circle #”, that would help.
Typos, name inconsistencies
These always help, please provide screenshots
Things you can ignore:
$NoData$…20151001 or $NoData$…20151016 or $NoData$…20151022 etc
Example:
IMC adds new lines to the project often and has done so very recently (that’s why you see 2015/10/22) so there are blanks in the file we have not reached yet. We’ll get there eventually.
These are for now the ones I can come up with off the top of my head.
Remember this is a Beta Test. You’re here to test first, play second. Things will be wiped in the end so don’t fret too much about maxing things out / being the top / whatever. Expect bad English after level 170-ish, so don’t be in a rush to get to 200~
Most importantly, have fun!
