Is the +50% to slash dmg already in our version?..

I got hop3 for spear throw which is considerably one of the better 0 cd AOE damage skill for swordsman tree. It somehow fixes the issue of fencer not having enough AOE skills.

Of course, you can go petl2 to be a better taunter or cosair 1 for money making / some pvp capacity.

Execution time is about 1.2 sec so yeah. Could probably be faster, but I have really bad ping.

Anyway, sept etoiles with prep and defense pierce already does more damage than spear lunge and both hexen dropper charges combined and attaque composee is currently the highest dps swordsman skill.

It doesn’t really matter what you take before fencer.
In my experience with skull swing, defense boost is often a bigger damage boost than spear lunge (it also boosts everyone’s damage and even removes level penalty defense so sometimes it’s a damage boost of thousands of %).
On top of fencer’s 100% uptime defense pierce you also get 15% passive pierce skill damage from having a rapier equipped, so having spear lunge as well would be nice on top.

Unfortunately swordsman doesn’t have automatic weapon swap like archer does, and weapon swapping can be extremely laggy.

its animation was sped up in kTOS thats why i was surprised.

Supposedly they’re migrating the ktos repository into itos this month so we’ll be getting all ktos changes.

Having the extra aoe ratio from finestra + spear throw won’t really matter much when we get the card system because you can get a ton of aoe ratio through that.

Oh? I wasn’t aware of such patch. That would make things much better if the animation is sped up then.

You can quick swap…
But its bannable… Quick swapping is when you go to TOS files and rewrite hotkeys to be pressed before or after a skill has been used.
So if you set the weapon to a hotkey it will auto swap when you press the hotkey you set it to.

Other then that I don’t really feel like armor break is THAT big, the most DEF that an enemy has right now is 800(?) and since unlike other MMOs DEF is subtracted flat from the dmg being dealt instead of reducing it by a percentage.
At most your only gaining +800 dmg which at lvl 280 when you should be hitting an upwards of 10k or more, +800 dmg is not even going to be noticeable…
and everything else has between 500-700 def at lvl 280 continent…

Im also pretty sure that the auto weapon swap for archers was a bug that just never got fixed.
It was listed int he known bugs section of the kTOS patch notes for a while.

Yeh just about every skill in the swordie tree got its animation sped up

Btw I am curious what build did you go with?

I know that you didnt ask me, but I do think the flaconnade spam is pretty good~
especially since you could potentially never take a physical hit if your good enough…
when Im tanking for a dungeon spamming this makes you take almost no dmg .-.

Also since Lunge boosts slash dmg I like to use Lunge right as Coquille’s Timer is ending then swap to slash skills
So i might pick up Barb after hop2 honestly >_>

Armor reduces damage before your % modifiers are applied.

On a plate enemy with 380 defense, you having 750 base attack.
Hexen dropper with spear lunge debuff will do 8,163 (16,326 with both overheats used, 12 hits total)
Sept Etoiles with prep and defense pierce will do 18,305 (7 hits)
And you also get 100% defense pierce to spam composee with.

This is a total damage difference of 1,979. This difference increases even more in favor of defense removal against leather targets and with crits (yes, armor comes before crit bonus 50% damage and reduces that effectiveness as well, crit attack is only added flat afterwards)

Hum … Hoplite seems to give more dps than barb…

Pelt 1 for taunt and guardian. Hop 2 for spear lunge mostly once I got to fencer 2. Highlander 1 for try-hard stacking pierce debuff. Fencer 2. Planning to invest 68 pts on str, 30 points in con, and the rest on dex which should get me around 57-58% crit rate. I’m hoping the fencer 3 or if they introduced matador, they’ll have 1-2 skills that have skill damage.

Highlander 1 is just my fun way of building my swordie though pelt 2 would bring way more. It’s really easy but slight challenging to switch between 3 weapons but swapping weapons all the time is why I play swordie.

It does pierce wise, outside of it I’ll take barb. Warcry provided with ktos buffs has 50 second cooldown and pouncing is better. There’s also highlander to argue with so anything goes really depends on what you want to do.

I didn’t take hoplite myself because I hate spears and switching.

Cross Guard won’t block enemies later on unless you have highlander3 for level 15 crossguard and full or near-full STR. The amount of block value required is insane.

Also, evade overwrites block.

Sounds like a lot of fun. That would really stack a lot of debuff just by yourself. I can’t wait to see how you shred down most of the mobs and bosses. Probably half the time I spend to rush bosses.

Also, I might suggest go with a heavy str build since crossguard only triggers when mob land a hit on you.

Even if you were only get barb1 and corsair1 with fencer2

lunge debuff + cleave debuff with the 3 overheats of dust devil we’re getting is a total of 1,890% atk
even just that is stronger than spear lunge + hexen dropper’s 1,800% atk from both charges.

It’s even stronger than it looks because dust devil is less hits for more ATK and gets reduced less by enemy armor.

Mind show us a video of how it works? I am interested.
