@MizderMeaner I’d prioritize AoE ratio if I could hit another medium monster with it since they’re the most common. go by 5/7/9/11.
Otherwise, Crit Rate, P.Attack, Elemental attacks.
Treat things like HP, Critical Attack and SP recovery as a bonus from what’s above.

I have been theory crafting how Rank 8 will go when it comes out. I was thinking of going Corsair C3 ( C3 costumes, a little bit of a ranged attack even if it stinks, Hexen Dropper 10.) or Shinobi. This is of course excluding any new classes coming out, I may entirely change my mind as I have a feeling Matador will sync with us some how. As a S>Pelt>x2Barb>x2Corsair>x1Fencer, what would you guys personally do?
All depends on Rank 8 classes. Really hard to tell. Personally, I’ve been slowly leaning towards Fencer 3, in case Fencer 3 is good. If not then Corsair2->Fencer2 but I feel like taking a rank 8 circle would be better, whatever it might be.

Same on the Rank 8 class thinking. This is more me theory crafting for fun. I don’t think Fencer C2 would be a bad decision, but I’m rather leaning away from it because then if there’s a Fencer C3 I’d probably want it. Since damage decreases upon rank, it would probably be best for me to avoid anything but the new Rank 8s or C3 Corsair because Hexen Dropper 10 with Attaque Coquille would be sweet. A Shinobi-Corsair-Fencer just sounds so bad arsed tho. XD

Problem with going Corsair 2, is that you won’t be able to go Fencer 3 if it’s good but with Fencer 2 you still have a chance to go Corsair 2, if there’s nothing good at rank 8. I want Hexen Dropper but it might be safer to skip it for now. Prep + Hexen is the dream though.
Mmmm, really depends. Look at Archer branch for instance. The best damage is to always go Canoneer or Musketeer, the exception sometimes being C3 Fletcher. If the next new classes are so high damage wise, then you’d miss out on Corsair’s Hexen. I’d say it really all comes down to preference too. Do you prefer Fencer that could possibly get a really powerful skill at C3, or do you prefer Corsair with the option of taking an entirely new class for damage? Because in the end that’s how I predict it will go.
Still really want the C3 Corsair… I’m a stylish girl. XD
Okay thanks man for all of the advice. I’m really hyped to play with fencer now. I’m always the guy who likes as much info on a class as possible before I make it and you and deanleroy have been a tremendous help.

And also can u cast skills while Iron Hook is On? and if yes would it cancel the hook duration?
I prefer Attaque Coquille + Hexen Dropper because less set up, tad more damage. Someone did the calculations some where in this thread or another on these forums, I think? Anyway if you’re at all concerned about which may have more damage in the future though, it will probably be Fencer C3 if it comes, since most people opt out of C3 Corsair because, you can get better/more damage/utility else where. Sept Etoiles at lvl 15, after all. Plus perhaps another piercing skill.
You can cast skills while using hook and it will not cancel. However if you move it will. You can move with Keel Haul though and drag your opponent. Other than utility though Keel Haul sucks damage wise.

Knock down w/ Bash run near the target + Iron Hook at 0 distance then combo with Preparation+Attaque Coquille+Spept Etoile
IMO, your combo will take too much time to prepare, especially point-blank Iron Hook and Preparation. Preparation has quite a long charge time and Iron Hook has little to none utility in PvE.
Maybe it’s feasible to pick Corsair 2 + Fencer 2 in the future. Just use Lv1 Preparation and Hexen Dropper. Quite a lot of damage. Just my 2 cent
