Hi saviors.
I saw some topics about overkill system but it looks like there was few updates in this mechanic, so i’ll just talk about my experience.
I’m trying to do the achievement “Skilled Battle (Achieve 100,000 overkills)”. My strategy here is to get it early on, with a new character, because i assume getting overkills late game is nearly impossible or need a more evolved strategy (i may be wrong).
I’m at 18K+/100K overkills right now, farming 1K/hour roughly. I’m at lv30 and i farmed mostly on Bug Leaf (lv2 mob) and Raflower now (mob lv16) because they got fix spawn so its faster (like hydras in RO you know).
##Edit : Achievement done. Video of my efficient pattern to get 1K+ overkill/hour - only for new char or under lv39
I farmed Raflowers from lv16 to 39, approximately 80 hours of farming.
Earthquake lv12 (level10 + 2 raflower gems), EQ attribute lv25, some INT, and +7 Dio Staff with some blue gems inside (only lv2 i think), and Energy Bolt lv5 helped.
The idea is to clean the three camps in 2 minutes, and doing same on the other way.[quote=“nizidr, post:19, topic:204144”]
Btw several batches of Lv52 Raflowers also can be found in Novaha Annex. They are also easily overkilled (With quick cast - magic missile).

Same here, 3 camps of 35 raflowers, 2 minutes respawn. Overkill possible until level 75. You won’t overkill them with EQ though (poison mob earth resistance and too much hp), but Magic Missiles and some buffs can do the job.
Looks like using Secondary Attack with staff can proc overkill.
Let me share what i observed to understand how to get Overkills.
Rules to get Overkills
- Be in a 23 Level range maximum
It looks like you can’t overkill a monster if he doesn’t give you xp, so if we refer to the xp formula (here), you’ll have to fight at least in a 23 level range, compared to yours (exemple, you are lv40, monsters lv17 can be overkilled, monsters level 16 can’t).
And that’s why you can’t get Overkills on Kepa with a high damage level 200 character.
- The more base level you get, the more damage you need
The formula is not as simple as 200% of monster hp or “remaining hp+100% total hp”. Every level you win will lower you’re potential of overkilling the same monster. I’m actually losing around 5 or 6% on overkilling score each level up, my damage and monster’s hp remain the same.
So i assume there is a factor like XP Penalty one (maybe the exact same) in the %Overkill Score formula.
- Other informations
- Class level doesn’t matter.
- Overkills don’t seem to give extra xp (anymore) or extra loot.
- It’s possible that there is a random bug with overkill and crit damage (need to be confirmed).
- There is a bug that looks to decrease your damage (i go from a fixed 263 to a 259 rarely with my aoe), maybe just after getting up from /sit and a bonus don’t load (weapon upgrade, skill passive, i don’t know…). So if you are usually very close to 100%~ Overkill, it won’t work sometimes because you drop to 99%. Really rare.
The Overkill Score formula
I will edit this part, still gathering information. I got a formula that works just for my actual spot, not sure yet it’s correct. You can help me by telling me about your overkills (i need your level ; the monster level ; monster’s remaining HP (ex : 75/350) ; the dmg you did and the %Overkill score)
On the other hand, i have a question for high level players : is it possible for a lv200 to Overkill a lv 177 monster ? for a 280 to Overkill a 257 monster ? Or the gap between Dmg needed and possible dmg is too high ?
Don’t hesitate to share your thoughts and data.
