[Guide] Mage Builds General Discussion đŸ’„

i think im going for the RC build, should i go for kino2 for the atributes or Wl for extra dmg??

I see what’s going on here haha

You’d like to have a DPS build for parties like Earth Tower and Dungeons but already are a cryomancer c2. The problem is Cryo3 is for players who like CC, not damage. You should go for cryo3chrono3 as the nighttrain_scy said. The people 225+ will love you when you’re at their party.

Actually im planning to go cryo3 but im still at cryo2, so what do u think on any possible builds for me?

But FF without the linker is not so good for i think one of the best could be for soling cryo3>linker2>FF or maybe Cryo3>linker>chrono>FF to help.

hey im new to the game.
so i want to build wiz>cryo>link>link>chrono>chrono>chrono
my question is about the stat. how much should i spend on int? since im just a supp
thanks

Technically, it will be best to go full CON
You need rely on Pardoner’s buff to do questing, it will be a tough way as you need longer time to kill monsters.

If you are not that strict to GvG/PvP, you can add more INT like 1CON:1INT, 20k hp is more than enough to survive is most PvE contents.

That CryoC3-ChronoC3 suggested build should be updated in my opinion - why take 5 points in Gust (and 1 in Snow Rolling) instead of 5 points in Snow Rolling (and 1 in Gust) is beyond me.

I messed up my build due to that because I did not do more research (I know it is my fault) and now I have to either remake/reroll or suck it up with a bad level 1 Snow Rolling.

What you guys think about these 2 builds?

Wiz > Cryo > Cryo > Wiz > Wiz > Cryo < Rune Caster
Reason: Rune Caster has 8 sec casting skills. With Wizard they can become 4 sec casting skills. Freeze and Sleep can help to stop enemy from attacking before using runes. Rune caster will have Rune of Destruction (wich is similar to Meteor of Elementalist), Rune of Ice (to buff Cryo skills) and Rune of Giants (cool party buff).

My second idea is:
Wiz > Cryo > Linker > Cryo > Linker > Cryo > Rune Caster
More supportive build for parties, but lack of wiz c3 makes it hard to use runes in pvp with 8 sec casting (freeze last 6 sec, sleep c1 last 7, so still enemy will have 1-2 second to run away from Rune of Destruction).
Linker is taken to have some fun with freezing several enemies. I do hpe that it works like that: you link enemies with Joint penalty and then use Ice bolt and all enemies can take freeze effect (need confirmation if it will be the case or not).

I was thinking of building

Wizard > Wizard c2 > wizard c3 > linker > sorc > sorc c2 > Warlock

http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/z2mqufkl34/ >> with the skill i spend on if you will

With stat allocation (assuming i’m at level 240, so the total point are 239) :
Con : 100 (i raised the con quite many, because i think i’ll got hit a lot :’) )
INT : 75
SPR : 64

I want to have a DPS Wizard on PvE (i fear that my build would drain my SP into nothingness tho
), could you guys give me an enlighment about it ? :confounded:

with sorceror abilities alone, more SPR is actually an issue. % max sp means that the higher your max sp is, the more summon eats each tick. please refer to the threads on sorceror for more info and more clarity than i can provide here. instead, the focus should be on Int and Con (in an int-focused build, many opinions say 15k hp is good enough lategame). for sp management, instead use sp pots and shoot for “icing on top” being gear/hairenchants with sp recovery.

my wiz3/link/sorc/necro2 will be going 4:1 int/con with just a few points into spr for early game max sp pool. around lvl 120 ill start plugging in con higher than my ratio and stop around 75 including gear i think, while int takes over after that completely.

forget all your builds. if its not a cookie its not good.

Any sorcerer build is tier2 at highest.
Wiz>Cyro>Linker2>Sorc2>WL

the more u try to be different the weaker u get. have fun.

as of right now that may be true, but as with any game, meta changes with content changes. ele3 could be useless at lvl 600 for all we know. this assumption is a stretch yes, but my point is what ranks may come later might bring synergies with unpopular ranks atm and same with making poor synergies with currently popular ranks.

an example that may be likely: rank 8 archer class Machine gunner (COMPLETELY MAKING THIS UP ATM) adds a buff skill to auto attacks that doesn’t stack with running shot for whatever reason, but is stronger or faster with some differences (maybe can’t move during). this would make QS3’s running shot useless in a build with such a class unless you needed running shot for auto buff on the move or there is a gap in cooldown uptime.

Or another possibility, Ele3/Warlock build doesn’t find much new stuff from new ranks coming out. If such were true, Ele3/Warlock/Sorc2 at r9 could be top tier.

once again, completely hypothetical, but enough reason to warrant the possibility of a drastic meta shift in character building. I say, build how you want a character, as long as it fulfills the role you intend to build it for. Since, everyone might have to rethink their mains for r10 complete build.

this build ur comment and suggestion guys tnx

I’ve decided to go Cryo3, Chrone3 and Sage. Currently Chrono 1 with all stats into Con. After checking the attributes of chronomancer I noticed one of them scales with INT, should I start putting points into different stats such as INT?

I really like Thaumaturge and I was thinking of something like this:

What do you guys think?

@Meemers

Your Wizard and Warlock skill distribution are a bit off. Earthquake should be left at Lv.1 and Sleep should be maxed; but if you already have it at those levels then it’s fine. Not something worth spending a Skill Reset on. Invocation is nice to have at atleast Lv.8

The build itself won’t really excel in anything in PvE but it could be alright in PvP. You can’t make use of Invocation outside of farming low level monsters since you won’t have enough AoE damage to produce spirits with it. Your Dark Theurge is going to be really strong but it will be single target and still not as strong as what Taoists, Druids, and Swordsmen can bring. Mastema is ok and Pole of Agony is ruined by its cooldown.

Maybe you can solve this by spamming JP scrolls but that’s going to be really expensive. You can also swap Thauma C3 for Linker C1 but you’ll lose the big head if that’s what you’re after

@otakuparadox
I don’t think it’s worth putting points into INT just for the crit resistance debuff from Slow

Okay, what about SPR or DEX?

DEX isn’t useful for that build either. You can put a few points in SPR if the rumour about SPR increasing chances of resisting debuffs is true (I’ve no idea where it’s at now, maybe you can ask around). Otherwise, just stick to CON

SPR does increase chances to resist debuff ( sleep etc) mostly T1 debuff.

Also resisting cure/heal damages, but to pull this off you need extremely high SPR. (most likely full spr + spr rings).

@otakuparadox

Other than PVP usage or for priest.
SPR is under whelming for WIzard class. SPR/INT for support class are pretty much “white elephants”

Even if you are thau you can just transpose/from full con etc or vice versa.
(if you transpose to con
your hp will still need to refill it up every transpose)

Do note resist does scale to your level as well. (same as crit rate issue).

Dex is a rip stat to wizard. ( unless they are changing magic can crit)

I’m Chrono, not thau.
