[Guide] How to level to 130 with (almost) no grind!

So I managed to hit level 130+ with barely any grind, and I thought I’d share some tips since a lot of people seem to be asking “where do I grind at lv__”. I’ll try to make this short and simple so you don’t have to read too much.

  1. Quests. Let’s start with the obvious: Do all quests. In general every area will give you 15 exp cards (though some maps are different). Keep track of the amount of cards you get, if you run out of quests in an area before getting 15 cards then you probably missed something. If you don’t mind being spoiled, you can check http://www.tosbase.com/game/world-map/ for a full list of quests that you can get on each map. Remember that you can only take quests that are 10 or less levels above you.

  2. Dungeons and EXP cards. For the most part you want to use your EXP cards as soon as you can (the higher level you are, the faster you kill mobs, the faster you finish quests) but there are some exceptions. Most notably is when you just hit the level required to enter a dungeon (50, 90, 130). At this point, stop using any EXP cards and spam as much dungeons as you can! Dungeons give heaps of EXP, and if you use your EXP cards you’ll get higher level and thus get less EXP from the dungeons due to the level penalty system. You can use all your EXP cards again when you’re done with your dungeon runs. (Type /indun in normal chat to see how many more times you can do a dungeon for the day).

  3. Companions. Many people seem to suggest getting a companion early on, but I have to disagree. Don’t get me wrong, a companion is amazing when it’s near your level, but getting it to that point is hard. Companions are great for leveling your alt since they’ll be higher level than you, but not really that useful for your main. (Exception if you’re a companion-based class of course).

  4. Equipments. Getting a good weapon and making it +5/+6 is a big deal, seriously. Check http://www.tosbase.com/database/items/equipment/ to find the best weapon you can obtain at your level range (that is within your capabilities to get of course, you can ignore the OP impossible-to-get weapons lol). Craft it, upgrade it, slot it. For upgrading, you’ll want to get it to +5 or +6. +5 is really easy with 0 risk, but if you wanna gamble a bit go for +6, the bonus dmg from +5 to +6 is TWICE the bonus dmg you get from +4 to +5, and it has 88% chance to succeed, which is quite likely. For gems, getting it to 3-star is super easy, you can buy a bulk of mats for cheap from AH and use it to level them up. Don’t use your talt/gems/cards/equips to level up your gems, it’s a waste of money. When you’re higher level, you might wanna try to 4-star or even 5-star your gem, it’s definitely worth it.

That’s mostly it. The dungeon runs is the most important part honestly. Spending an hour doing a few dungeon runs at level 50s will save you from hours of grinding at level 80s, and spending an hour doing a few dungeon runs at level 90 will save you from hours of grinding at level 120s.

Apologies if there are any typos/grammatical errors, English isn’t my native language and I’m a bit sleepy as I’m typing this.

Heyyy thanks for the info!! Super helpful. Just a question though, I didn’t know you can use materials other than gems to level the gems up. What kind of material would work, and what is the “AH” that you mentioned? Thank you!

Do you still get exp from lv 50 dungeons when you’re lv 80s? I feel like you’re too high lv for the mobs… Or is it unless you do with lv 80s?

Exactly why I said “almost”. You get 10x more exp from dungeon mobs than normal mobs, where would you rather grind?

Most materials should work, when you’re in the gem enhancing menu the ones you can’t use will be blacked out. When I said AH I meant the Market, my bad.

Not really, which is why you should do a lot of dungeons at 50s~60s, that way you’ll save up quests/exp cards that you can do when you’re level 80+

remind me of the auction house in diablo 3 back in the day : )

if you are 24 lv higher than monster lv u won’t get any exp

You don’t need to grind so much… but you will need to grind on some part of your level…

  1. Do all quest. but do not consume every exp card. (you’ll need it later)
  2. Grinding level are 45 -53 and 86 - 92 etc are the level where you need to grind, do not use your exp card here or do quest coz at this level the denominator of total exp are back to the smallest figures. so even if you kill one monster at the same level your exp will jump to 10% in an instant.
  3. if you are doing a quest make sure the lvl of the map is atleast 5-8lvl higher that you… If not you are probably left behind.
  4. if you can’t do quest because you are 10lvl gap from the requirement… that’s when you eat exp cards.

I hit level 70 in about 6 hours, on my new character and i didnt grind at ALL.and still have tons of quests and EXP cards ready for the level 80-90 shot. as soon as i hit 80 im going straight to 90 and into dungeons. You shouldn’t have to grind at ALL, except for the 5 dungeon runs.

Really? Cause’ I was out of quests before I even hit 50 just spamming exp cards. <_<

Oh hey it’s the zombie master!

But yeah as you said there’s no need to grind at all apart from the instanced dungeons. In fact the first time I had to grind normal mobs was at level 128 to get the last 2 levels I need to unlock the level 130+ dungeon.

I’m lvl 66, is the exp at Tenant dungeon still good?

You’ll get around half a level from a single run I think, which is okay but not too great.

Can someone please explain where these dungeons are? I screwed up by not doing the level 50 dungeon. now i’m 74 and out of xp cards and out of quests.

It probably doesn’t help that parties are broken… this is definitely something I want to figure out before the game goes live though.

I can go to the Lv 130 Dungeon twice daily, how much EXP i earn each time i go if i am Lv 130? ‘-’:grinning:

What i tend to do is go and complete areas on the map that are within 10 levels of my own. Remember that you can do quests that are within 10 levels of your own. So if youre level 74, go do the level 84 and under areas. If you did all of that, you will probably have to grind until you hit a high enough level to unlock quests in another area.

Então, eu parei lvl 124 acredito que eu tenha feito todas as quests inclusive voltei nos mapas e não achei nenhuma aberta… lvl 125 até 127 eu só consigo grindando ?

At level 130 you’ll get roughly 1.5 levels from a run, and I believe at around level ~135 you’ll be getting less than a level per run.

At level 47 and 87, the exp table shows the exp required has been dramatically reduced. However, this is not the case for 130 (nor 127), but until 137. The next gap at 187.

Edit: 46, 87 136 and 186 is the actual level, see the link in detail. And my point is, it is not how much level you get from dungeon, but instead, developers scale the exp between those levels.

I would like to add something on the companion part. Check Tosbase’s companion EXP table and you will see how its EXP needed only grows in small increments so it will catch up to you and even surpass you at some point.
