It really works. Seems that the notification before closing the game just makes some “broken” ipf file to be delayed… I think. Thanks ^^ But they have to fix this.

Sorry but it didn’t worked for me. Already try to do this method in other server but couldn’t get in the character selection menu. I tried this too:
- Verify cache (it appears that everything is ok)
- Reinstall the client (the problem just got more frequently untill that I cannot even get loged in)
- Your method with more time before press cancel. (I tried in 5-10 seconds before press cancel and after I tried with 10-20 seconds and nothing change).
I really like this game and I want to be part to transform it in a very popular game in the future but this problem is getting me more and more sad about it. Please, help me, I want to continue my adventure with my archer.

This delaying tactic does not work for me, neither for a mate of mine.
I hope they fix this inconvenience as soons as possible.
Worked for me but I’m experiencing a lot of lag and after sometime the game crashes.
Saved myself a hassle of editting .xml every time with simple script (Auto Hot Key). Works like a charm even in full screen mode:

Must be run with elevated privileges (run as administrator).
CTRL+Insert will exit script
CTRL+End will try to close the game (same thing as if you clicked that X in mode 2/windowed mode)
also binds attack and shield/knife to mouse 4 and 5 buttons.
If you don’t want to use Windowed mode for this method, I have been pressing ESC in Fullscreen (after 2-3 secs, but it varies based on computer and connection) instead of clicking X in Windowed mode and it has the same effect.
I have to do it everytime I login, not sure if that’s the case with the Windowed solution.

It’s been a week since this issue has stuck around, all because of an anti-hack module that was hackishly written and rushed out by some idiot. It’s not even ■■■■■■■ important at the moment - party, chat and market modules failing under load should be higher priority.

Fix problem soon because one of the biggest MMO streamers is gonna stream Tree of Savior in about 1 hour.

Usually I spam a little before It let me in, and after my 5 atempt I decided to try this. Following instructions and… Didn’t worked.
Pretty sure this gimmick is actually not very usefull.
Let’s go back to good old spamming.
@AkaiKiseki I have never got IPF file error with client close attempt trick: You enter the server > try to close client (i do it with script) > wait 5 sec > cancel exit window popup > you are in character lobby.
Not sure if the problem still persist after latest maintenance.
It work 100% of the time for me.
I edit the file. Open the game, clik enter then quickli clic close, then i count to 10 very slowly, click close, and BAM, im on my character select screen.
