Hi guys, i did write this guide in the archer forum, since it can be usefull for both archers and swordies I will link it here as well.

I prefer on my catagoon 2x shoes for maximum evasion. But i also have an 18% evasion passive. I suspect i should get about the same amount of evasion as 4p leather mastery when he is fully geared and leveled. Maybe more if you transcend the shoes…
As you can see in the video, I gained 66 evasion from mounting. My penguin is currently lv277 with w/ a lv170 leather shoes and a lv220 leather shoes. So there is room to improve 
for shoes, just an over upgraded superior bandit boots will do, slot them w/ green gems (gems work if the pet has that stat the gem gives)
for weapon slot, you can try looking for weapons w/c gives evasion, i for one use light gorithos x2, it gives 24 eva each.

generally speaking evasion stack sucks on the pet
You gain 25% of the invested HP vs 8% evasion.
Also, shoes have worst hp gem (yellow gem) or evasion gem (green)., while top bottom have better hp gem (red) or phisical def (yellow)
2x superior bandit boots with 4x lvl 5 green gem
127x2 dodge + 17x4 dodge = 322 dodge = 8% on you =25 evasion
2x virtov plate robe with 4x lvl 5 red gem
1591x2 HP + 789x4 HP = 6338 HP = 25% on you = 1585 HP
On top of 128x2 phisical defense (256), which turn into 25 phisical defense (10%) for your char.
So that’s 25 evasion (boots) vs 1585HP AND 25 phisical defense (vritov plate robs)
Stacking evasion to me make no sense most of the time, even if +18%passive make it slighty more interesting
Evasion is an all-or-nothing stat currently because the PvP meta is high dex or full dex. If you don’t have significantly more evasion than their accuracy, you won’t be able to evade any hits at all.
if youre still keen on stacking evasion on your pet, while i was looking at recipes i have in my character, i found the recipe for a rapier called DUELIST, it gives 43 evasion.

the guy here prefers his evasion over hp and def so cut him some slack your suggestion might be good for the majority but there are some people w/ specific tastes we encounter

dont use shade armors on pet, their evasion doesnt affect pet stats

I think a good rule to follow is if you’re using plate armor, then stack HP and DEF on your pet. If you’re using leather armor, then stack evasion on your pet.
I realize most people are using plate armor and it’s the meta right now. For example, grynas plate boots costs 2.6 million, and a superior bandit boots is dirt cheap.
Stacking DEF seems to be more optimal since you can reduce a lot of physical damage down to 1. But either way, I’m running a themed build where I stack evasion.
Meta is prone to shifts anyways…IMC is already in the talks of reworking the ATK/DEF formula.
You are right, peopel with 0 cons won’t like the 1 damage becoming a big flat number after a cap % reduction damage like most games.
Well that was kinda how it was before the DEF/MDEF buff and evasion was really good then.
I heard about it too… But isn’t it more like reworking INT/STR stats instead of def/atk? I just hope imc give out everyone free reset if the formula changes.
Duelist or Shades dont give Evasion for pet unfortunately. I highly suspect it is a bug. HP bonus from weapons, armors, gems do get counted though, and i dont want to take the trouble of sending a ticket considering it will never get fixed anyway.
YES, this guide is the facto the best pet for riding classes 
my Light Gorithos and my Maga Bow gives evasion on my pet, so i was assuming the Duelist gives evasion. I also stated that the Shades dont give evasion so better not use it
I’m using bows since i want to increase my pet damage since im a hunter so I experimented a lot on the weapons, sadly, i havent tried the Duelist rapier
Dont try duelist, it doesnt give evasion on pets. So other equips with evasion are working on pets. Maybe only a handful of equips with evasion are bugged.
@fatedhour as you can see,someone has tried using duelist on pets and it doesnt give evasion. maybe try using Maga Bow? it has evasion 24 and also has HP 1020

I did a bit of research for what to use (BiS) for your pet if you want evasion stacking (for PvP, mainly), pls confirmg if they work or not:
Superior Bandit boots: 127 evasion on top of 2 sockets (you can go blue/yellow/green gem as u wish)
Shade dancer: only 78 evasion, only 1 socket (but you can socket red gem since it a top peace, still doesnt make sense to me). Is this bugged?
Weapon:
Magas sword: My favorite one, you gain 8% from 21 dodge AND 25% from 1.5k hp
Duelist: best evasion value at 40+ confirm that is bugged
Other weapon option for hardcore evasion stacking (30+ value)
We should try to see what does work with evasion and what does not to make me update the guide.
ALL the hp items worked fine till now (as well as red gems on armor).
I do have superior bandit boots and shade set top // bottom, will make some tries. I do miss the weapons (even if, aside duelist, they should be cheap so I guess I can make tries by myself if nobody can confirm).
You know the hunting grounds have been announced since a while with 3 4 slots armors items.
