[Guide] A(not so) short guide on making builds~

there are many people, new and early access players both ask the question " is my build viable", well in this guide i hope to feed you all yummy information so you can know if you’re build works.
:sunglasses:

while making a build, you should ask yourself " what do i hope to excel at in this build?", keep in mind that a jack of all trades is a master of none.

What do you hope to excel at in your build? is it:

(Swordsman)

  • Tanky
  • Single target Damage
  • Aoe Damage
  • CC
  • Utility
Summary of Swordsman: Tankiest class in game, deals decent~good damage when going dps, AOE isn’t that high compared to others, low amount of utility and large AOE CC. Has buffs that only apply to themselves which are pretty strong and they also have low cooldown on abilities.

(Cleric)

  • Damage
  • Heals
  • Debuffs
  • Buffs
  • CC prevention
  • Boss killer

Cleric summary: they don’t have a great amount of AOE, most of their skills have a X number of hits instead of the full duration. Most clerics aren’t that good when i comes to AOE damage because of the limitations ( except Monk’s energy blast) which makes them excel against bosses where damage clerics shine brightly. They (most of the time) deal the least amount of damage but make up their shortcoming of damage with heals and buffs.

(Wizards)

  • Buffs
  • Utility
  • Hard CC
  • group mobs
  • Damage

Wizard summary: Highest AOE damage in the game but the lowest HP pool. They have the most amount of CC but most support builds have very negligible damage. They use a large amount of SP very fast.

(Archer)

  • Single Target damage/ small AOE ratio
  • AOE damage
  • Utility
( when you realize Archer revolves around damage, damage, with a side of more damage)

Archer summary : Damage here, Damage there, Damage everywhere!
but in all seriousness, archers deal the most amount of damage but how low HP pool and the lowest amount of survivability. their utility and CC is lacking.

Now with that out of the way, it’s time for making your build! While making your build, ask yourself " How does this class complement my future classes" look for synergies because that’s how you get a good build. Try not to have more than 3 choices because that makes you decent at everything which equals in having a really weird character and you don’t know exactly what to do.

Here is a build i went as a wizard

This build has:

  • Damage
  • Group mobs
  • Utility

how this build synergizes:

  1. Quick cast virtually good in any Wiz 3 build
  2. Sleep 15 stops enemies from doing anything for a long period of time
  3. I can group mobs for my summon and my small AOE from warlock

Every build has cons to it:

  1. % SP drain
  2. 125 levels of painful boss fights revolving around you jumping and pressing Z
  3. Templeshooter is hard to get, expect to get it after lvl 180 or so.
  4. Ele 3 does more damage.

The end! finally right? i lied it’s not short.
I hope this Guide helps you make a build that you will love.
