Grinding should at least be as rewarding as doing quests

I don’t mind grinding at all.

The problem is at lv 80 I feel forced to follow quests in order to progress, grinding is clearly not a choice.

Now, I grind when I get tired of questing …and that’s strange. Shouldn’t it be the other way round?

Grinding should be the major way to progress!

EXP cards need to be toned down and mobs exp seriously needs to be adjusted.

Why should grinding be the major way? Other than “it has always been like that”.

Because running around talking to NPCs is not an MMO

What mmos have you been playing?

75-83 is grinding central and map quests.
Just go ahead and do maps around that level.
Use this for a reference:

Also the exp curve from 85-91 is insane.
If you grind it and get a good spot, you’ll get 85-91 in about an hour.

I agree, doing chores for NPCs isn’t much of a MMORPG, it’s more like a single player RPG thing to me.

I also agree that grinding should be more encouraged on early stages, not everyone can stand doing quests endlessly for a week, and even if they could, most of them will skip the context and go for the objectives just because the rewards are way too much.
(I still do quests because i feel that it’s something that has to be done, and i don’t want to do them being overleveled, which would give me no fun at all.)

I will always choose grinding over questing if possible, just because i stick more to the gameplay than the storyline, quests should be epic journeys, not an excuse to get phat l00t easily with the least amount of effort.

Agreed. Most quests, except for the main arc are basically you being a delivery guy, taking a certain item to a certain person, to the point where you get REALLY excited when you have to call some mobs. It’s ironic because people say that grinding is just turning off your brain, when in reality you need to think and react a lot more to the gameplay itself.

Grinding feels even less rewarding and punishing now that the price of equipment and scrolls are reduced and the repair cost increases with the new patch.

Not sure which type of players IMC is trying to attract…
