Grind or quest?

Good morning saviors!!

Well, i was searching for this information, “grind or quest”? And i didnt find nothing bout it, i didnt play the first beta so i dont have any idea What to do in this next beta… I really want this game tô be grindy, is not about that game that ive played… I Just like to grind over questing, too many quests fakes the group system, because u cannot play with ur friend that is about two quests over u, and just 2 lvl in difference… So, my really question is, Tos is about quest or grind? Can i grind all the time and avoid quests? Can i join groups and grind avoiding quests? Thanks

You can grind to max level, ignoring all of the Quests, if you want to.

Of course this greatly lowers your experience of the game since Quests are tied to Achievements, so you’ll more than likely do them in OB anyway.

Well could be a good balance between the grinding and questing since I heard you gotta find the quests so actually talking to npcs instead of them spamming quests at you on the screen. I have no clue what is really the best route yet myself since I have no experience sadly. I would like to think the grinding would be more of the fun choice since with the auto party system if I’m right. Not sure how the exp sharing works in parties either. :frowning: But on the other hand there is good chances some quests could give exp or equipments so would be ashamed to miss out on potential for good quests.

That is what I think anyways so my favor would be 50/50 I suppose. xD

I can deal with quests if they don’t had to be done 100% of my time, i really don’t want to spend a lot of time running quests… Theres a way to complete main quests e ignore side quest? That seems to be all alone game…

50/50 is a good deal. I hate games that you talked to an npc, and them give u tons of quests

Some quests give you good rewards, such as EXP, equipment and even a hair color.

In this CBT, it’s possible to get very far via quests only, but you’ll need to do some grinding at some point

Quests are decent, but there are times where you find yourself missing a level or two in order to get the required level for the next quest.
Then It is a good idea to get into a group and grind a level or two .

I really hope my tos love overcome this quests hahaha

More grind im pretty sure. I’d much rather grind. I’m okay with some sidequests, as long it’s not overwhelming.

Indeed I really hated that aspect where you get 4-5 crappy quests then move on to next npc then repeat. Very lazy work from my opinion. I don’t want to be smother by quests unless I choose so like this game has that potential for that since you gotta find npcs with good quests.

In the first closed beta ,quests were the way to go, Grinding solo was impossible.
Grinding in a group was decent since once in a while a special high exp mob came out , being in a party helps immensely then.

With the new settings this time around ,it is hard to predict how will the gameplay feel.

I really want this!! Grind is love, grind is life

If playing alone do quest till you run out and back to grind.
If you got a full party then do grind.

Both are fun and enjoyable.

I don’t know where i read this but. I found in some place that, they hide some npcs so you grind at the map and find them tô get quests, they want you tô explore the maps all along the way so, 50/50 quest grind maybe?..

Both.

It’s the better. And they aren’t hidden…

EDIT: @wardingham They really did that. And actually some quests you can do unlimited times, but with a con. Don’t know what is this con tho…

They don’t “hide” them necessarily , they just don’t indicate which npc’s do have quests. If you’re the type of guy who completely ignores random npc’s , then in the first beta you would have a lot of trouble around lvl 40 .

IMO it’s amazing , it brings a little bit of skill into otherwise boring and linear questing you know.
You do something I’ve haven’t seen in a while and that is Quest hunting.

This is partially the reason as to why there was so many “grind is so bad” posts on the forum ,back during the first beta.
Ppl didn’t quest and tried to solo grind, which was seriously the worst thing you could possibly do.

It’s not really hidden but back then a side quest NPC won’t have any icon show in mini map or above NPC. If not talking to them there’s no way you’ll know that they have quest for you.

Not sure if they change it to show now or not though.

Got it… Well, search for the npc while grind at the map is a good deal tô me…

How about both? Grinding and doing quests is good for your health.

I like the idea of no “!” icon on my mini map covering it up makes it unenjoyable for me honestly.
