So when I hold Z down with my finger I should be banned? I hold down the Z key with my finger in populated areas.

- ban based on number of reports
- take weeks to review the case
I’m interested if I can actually log in later. Not because of using a bot but because I don’t talk to other people in game. With a weebo community like this and so edgy I wonder how many reported me.

There is no way OP was just holding Z. He’s just talty and is inciting response.
If that were the case there would have been a metric ton more of bans than what has happened.
OP either used a macro system to automate and improve efficiency or was up to other shenanigans.
Even as per Ethan the cases are reviewed on a case by case basis to determine if botting (automation) or simple AFK farming was taking place… i.e they differentiate between the two. Which is a very important bit of information.

IMC should establish firm ground rules for afk behaviour. Grey areas don’t work if you’re going to go on a sudden ban wave based on player reports.
We should have a statement that says both afk attacking and using a macro are a bannable offense. Otherwise it’s very bogus.
In IMC’s Granado Espada for example, the game was made in a way that allowed for easy AFK grinding, and everyone used it without getting banned (at least in the early days, idk later).

If you check this thread -there will be numerous mentions about (temp)bans for KS in RO
btw -i dont want to ban all of you, grievers.
in fact i want:
pets to not be clickable (no more statue blocking)
and mob taging -if you aggro or hit a mob, it drop exp and loot only for you. (lets say 5 sec buff)
All those pesky archer KS can now try to kill steal “your” mobs all their heart desire
btw i understand that a lot of folks here are you know, pleb - so here is some naming policy rules enforced in high class MMO.
i see no problem with Tree of Savior enforcing something similiar

HOW? A “BOT” is automation software. Holding down a Z key isn’t software.

May be interesting in regards to the “Z-Key” thing:
For example, a player going afk while leaving a heavy object on the
attack key has to be handled differently from regular bots. The
classifier can deem the afk player innocent from looking at the honest
play records, so afk players should not be reported using the report
function as that will work against your RII.

I’ve already made several threads over the months concerning AFK+Z, and, to my knowledge, am the only person so far to have even received a vague response to the matter. In all other threads and posts they have remained silent on the matter. Even the posts I’ve made recently requesting clarification have been ignored.
Which leads me to believe it will always be a gray area. They can’t just say it’s allowed because then botters and RMT will have an officially legitimate way to farm silver and levels, even if it is inefficient and takes too long compared to standard play. Neither though can they say this not allowed as they’ve incorporated it into how the Z key functions intentionally as if they meant it to not be this way they could have addressed it any number of times over the years.

Tell me. Are you able to sit in place for 12 hours holding your Z key?
Without moving, or chatting, or something else? Just staying at the same spot?
More than able, could you imagine a single person who will actually do that? Without automation? I can’t.
When you play normally and hold your attack key you usually move around, find mobs, turn for them and so on. It is very different from the botters who stay for hours in the same spot auto-attacking.

Just simple common sense and little thinking and you’d know Z-botting will win you just as nice bans as other forms of botting. If they allowed it, guess what the gold sellers would start using with over 9000 bots once the game goes f2p? You can’t make one type of automated farming that doesn’t need human activity allowed. It would be abused right away and there’s literally no proper justification for it, no matter how lazy people can get.
People thinking this is retarded reason to ban Z-bots have very weird way of thinking, to say it politely.

Pff. Now imagine some Peltasta coming and aggro half the map with one skill. And do it again when mobs spawn again. What choice he left you other than KS?
Is it really? So if they leave it overnight everyday to get…let’s say 300k silver, is it really useless? Perhaps the exp is useless, but people that does Z afk grind is not really looking for exp for the most part. Most I’ve seen are 50-100 levels above the area, meaning they just want silver.
If you’re not playing and another thjing is making you attack, then you’re boting. Deal with it bro 
Because the end result is the same and IMC cant really tell if youre just macroing in that one spot or holding down your key while afk. This ia a very deserved ban.
I sincerely doubt he was just holding down z as well. They wouldn’t ban for that most likely. If I was in charge of monitoring bots, and I saw 50 trillion ‘z’ inputs with no other inputs, I’d know exactly what was going on, and move on to the case.

Pela in most cases dont kill “rooms” of mobs that fast, just “some”
Also Swashbucling//pull skill is on 15sec cooldown

There is also a second way to follow to eliminate KS -all players that hit(or aggro) mob shoud get full loot&exp. yes -even one hit on boss, end you should get reward for “helping”
This is a way of many MMO -for example Guild War 2
Just put something heavy enouth to keep the Z key down for you. Then you can go away and do other stuff, like eating, watching movies, sleep etc etc.
And since it’s no program attacking for you it’s not botting.

You go report another AFK holding Z and Pet AFK ingame.
