Gonna go Full CON Support Tank, need help ranks after Peltasta

Im currently at Peltasta 2 and I’m a lil bit confused on what class should I get on Rank 4. I really don’t care about the damage, I play with my friends all the time and we already planned some characters to build and I choose to be a pure CON tank.

Some say Rodelero C2 for Slithering for magic immune, some say Hoplite C2 for uptime Finestra for addition block. (Im fine with spears as long as I can hold a shield)

After acquiring either RodeleroC2/HopliteC2/OtherSuggestions, What class should I get after that? Should I go with Squire, for refreshments? Corsair, for Jolly Roger? What other skills do I need to support my partymates?

And for mastery, I want to hear your thoughts on cloth vs. plate. Most Swordies would choose plate but I already have high block for physical and we can’t block magic. Should I get cloth to lessen magic damage in the late game?

Again, I really don’t care about the damage, I want to be the best available full con support tank out there for parties/dungeons.

well my build is similar to the one you have, i’m going pelt2 rode2 fencer 2.
the build focuses on being tanky while dealing damage and having cc, 1 rank in flacondelle to be immune from damage while the animation is playing.

in your case if you want to be a full support with your current path, you could go: pelt 2 hop Squire 2/3 templar
pelt 2 rode 2 fencer 2
pelt 2 rode 2 cor 1 temp1 ( you could go cor 2 but since you prefer shields i suggest not to take cor 2)
pelt 2 cata 3 dragoon.

Swordsman is a bruiser class, there aren’t many choices regarding “full CON tank”

The question is this ;

do you have healer ALL time, to follow you and heal / buff ? if so make sure he pick class with magic resist / element resist. or Krivis for health regen
(squire regen buff + krivis regen buff = your health regen time will reduce to 0)

and this will be the result.

  1. do you have a damage dealing friend who will follow you and help you questing ?

  2. you do realise you can do full tank job with nothing but just peltasta c1 ?

  3. I suggest invest con/dex. to make use of 18% evasion from guardian, usefull for tanking.

  4. take note alot of people consider full CON tank c3 peltasta useless, and outside of your friend party most likely people won’t take you if there is peltc1 around.

so for your next rank ;

if you do have friends who will support you all the way, better take squire. will make grinding great, will give you extra silver. the buffs you get are really really usefull and last long.

otherwise, going pelt3 >hoplite3 as full tank, futureproof build will do… but i think squire will be better…

how many DEX should I invest to to achieve a decent evasion? or should I go leather mastery instead?

only 1 circle for hoplite?

for each 2con / 1dex can work nice, but you can just add dex however you feel it

how about this for lesser magic?

Absolutely dont go full con. Completely worthless. Cant hold aggro for s…t and deal pathetic dmg.

Best aggro holding on boss at early level is hop1 to cata for 2h spear. Trident triple hit increase stabbing dmg 300%.

does high guard stack with finestra?
is there any cap with block?
can it block skills too?

I agree with the last part but I don’t agree with the first part. I’m a full con pelt 3 and now squire 1. Till this day I do not have any problems holding aggro. If you have swordies in the team, you just gotta tell them to toggle off provoke if they have it.

lets dissect this. Full con tank = I think you have achieved this by going pelt and maxing your swashbuckiling.

Support = I would say in the long run you need to be a squire because you can repair yours and your friends. 10/10 it will break midway during dungeon. and 2, base camp and food will become essential later (outside of dungeon)

That literally means that you have problems holding aggro. Non-tanks who aren’t using Swashbuckling are generating more threat than you by just DPSing. Not only that, but you’re a waste of a party slot. Any of those Swordsmen could tank just as well as you and are dealing at least 5x your damage.

No, CON is not an acceptable choice.

All Aggro is based on DPS.
Provoke is a threat modifier, if you aren’t tanking there is no point in having it on thats just stupid.
Im also not a fan of full Con.

Has abostulutely nothing to do with them having a 500% threat increase attribute turned on, nope, nothing at all. /facepalm

That’s my point. He’s going full CON to be a “tank”, but tanking in this game isn’t like other games. The only purpose of tanking in this game is to gather enemies and hold them still in one spot. If a sword that went STR/DEX and has significantly higher DPS output than you can mob them just as well, then you are a wasted party slot and should be replaced by a DPS.

If archers and wizards have provoke attribute you might say the same thing. DPS swordsman must turn off the attribute if partying with tank swordsman.

Full DEX can tank melee better and deal a lot more damage, actually holding the aggro.
But in your case, get Rodelero2 for Slithering.

That’s an idiotic argument. If archers and wizards could swashbuckle/provoke nobody would bring Swordsmen in the first place. That’s the only reason anyone brings us. Because we’re mobbers.

My previous point is you have two options. Go full CON, hold threat and otherwise be a waste of space in your party, or go DPS build and hold threat while you also deal decent damage.

I believe nuzulspyware08 is talking about the attribute that give swordsman classes more aggro with their damage and not swashbuckler. He’s argument is valid in my point of view. Why would a DPS class want to keep the provoke attribute that helps them increase their aggro if they aren’t tanking? I’m a Peltasta 2 > Rodelero 2 and I have no problems keeping aggro with my dps and swash buckling(if the other swordsman classes turn of their provoke; but that’s why there is that ooption).

I forgot to mention I’m also full CON build

Tanking as a dps swordsman?
might work with physical mobs, but magical mobs?
Swash buckling is not the only reason swordsman become a tank, but also its naturally high HP especially with high CON.
Other classes and DPS swordsman can gather magical mobs as many as they want, but to be able to tank enough damage to keep up with heals?
High HP is needed for that.
Even while kiting there should be some monsters that manage to hit, that’s where high HP is important.

Should look into Rodelero. I use my Slithering to deal with magical mobs. 10 seconds of dodging magic atks (excluding CC). After that, I CC them or smash them with my slithering + shield push + targe smash. With my full CON build I can do 3x 2.5k-5k dmg (3x 4k-10k dmg if they are forzen)
