Gold and Silver Currency

There is a separate currency called Gold. I noticed this in the item translation file.

The lines involved are:

Gold
High Currency
Royal Kingdom Upper Currency

This is opposed to silver’s set of lines:

Silver
Common Currency
Royal Kingdom

I feel like this is something interesting and should be discussed. What does it mean? Is it a generic 1k silver = 1 gold system? Or, based on the description, some form of “upper class” currency?

Edit: Sike, I’m just dumb. The terms “Gold” and “Coins” are used within the translation files as terms for NXP. Silver is, seemingly, the sole term for in-game currency.

:question: I’m confused at what there is to discuss? Is it like other games where x amount of silver = 1 gold?

You might need to explain a bit more.
As far as I know, I’ve only seen silver so far. Are you saying you found somewhere that mentioned gold being ingame as well?

Yes, within the item file the lines mentioned at the top of the post are there, under silver. I feel like this is something interesting and should be discussed. What does it mean? Is it a generic 1k silver = 1 gold system? Or, based on the description, some form of “upper class” currency.

I doubt it’s some amount of silver (unless its more than 2,000,000 silver = 1 gold) because we’ve seen large amounts of silver in game already, if a certain amount of silver was 1 gold then I assume we would have already seen it somewhere. Like one of the companions = 1.5mil silver.

I think @Atrophos_MkII might be on to something. Gold might be the cash currency. If not it might be something used later on I suppose. Maybe something related to guilds?

Hmm, I see where you found those lines, but right now they don’t make sense to me.

^ Right now, the currencies are just these two: NXP and Silver.

However, I do remember noticing on GitHub that “NXP” was changed to “Coins” by IMCGames themselves.

I wonder if they will have a money exchanger NPC somewhere that will let you exchange gold (cash coins) for silver?

Eh, by looking at that screenshot, it probably does refer to NXP. I cannot find an entry that proves there is one for NXP in the item file, but the etc file mentions “coins” quite a few times, all of which refer to NXP purchases.

Also, Hairstyle changes were 100 coins/NXP, btw. NXP / Coins are giftable, maybe all the time, but it seems like there’s a gifting event where you give other players coins (NXP, I guess). HOWEVER, there is a later line that refers to coins specifically in the context of silver. But I think that’s just a discrepancy, or there is something that be purchased with either NXP or silver.

I was expecting IMC to name it Vis and Feso in reference to Granado Espada and copy SquareEnix style using Gil as currency in most of their games.

It’s more than likely a premium currency, and common currency. I played Albion beta and silver was what you used for everyday purchases, and gold was for the cash shop. Same dead like En Masse’s Gold and EMP

here is the thing: let’s say gold is the real money ig currency. I d even say that they had to change NXP to a more neutral name like “Gold” since publisher like steam (and so on) don’t use NXP.
Its probably as easy as that ^^

This is just my theory (opinion). but I think the Gold (non-tradable) = credits AKA currency used on cash shop. and the Silver (tradable) currency is for in game purchases.

This thread is dead and is based on me being dumb and too excited for stuff based on this game. Also, read the thread before you post. It’s established:

Silver = in-game currency, while Gold = real-world.

Don’t jump on my tin foil hat bandwagon.

Also, NAN YEARS LATER…

well you know how “dog years” are equivalent to around 7 human years… it may be something like that @_@" NAN YEAR = ?

Obviously:
gold = game cash
silver = game currency
