IMC, this goes to you.
Tibia is an old MMORPG that is now infested with bots and they gave the players a Report Bot option when clicking on a character. Of course, this is not a magic solution, but still helped.

In the end of a day, open your database and check for accounts with many reports. Then, add these accounts to your Suspicious Accounts List. Finally, ban them after concluding that these accounts do many economical transactions.

My question is: Why don’t give us some powers to combat them? I personally feel that I can`t do a thing against the bots in-game.

If you dont like the Report Bot option then try something else. Im pretty sure it won`t make things worse.

developing an in-game report function for players to use, and we
anticipate other inconveniences to naturally diminish once we
successfully administer bots.

Could only take a month… or so.
They’re not the fastest.

As they focus on other things mostly first…

retain high level players trough endgame content
Seems to be slightly higher in priority then fighting bots. As they are dealing with them one way or another.

Since we are talking about bots… I think I havent read a post talking about what is exactly going to happen if they don`t combat bots. A broken Market? Best items for everyone?

nope, broken market was the correct answer.
silver-sellers will eventually flood the market with so much silver that high-end items will just be insanely expensive. Arde Dagger is already 800k… who wants to pay 5m for it down the road? bots will crowd all the maps, stealing all the kills and thus all the drops, etc etc.

eventually it will just grind the game into the dirt, and it will die because no one will want to play it anymore.

fortunately, despite the endless crying about how “they aren’t doing anything!” IMC actually -is- trying to fight off the bot invasion, and with luck they’ll have something effective in place quickly.

And less money for imc.

Atm imc makes money over token to silver trades.
And will make much more when f2p hits…

Silver sellers and bots prevent that.
Which imc doesnt want at all ^^.

So they have the best reason to fight them, moneywise.

Well… if you put this in a perspective…

IMC already know that there will be a load of botters once the game release, so they took the advantage of that and created the “Founder Package” and lure all these botters to pay $50 and make profit out of them!

Once IMC fools all these botters and take their money, they decided to give us a “BAN-HAMMER” power and slammed the FUDGE out of these C-Farmer out of the game.

Anyways, It’s a joke… but yeah…o.o

Doesn’t work as wella s that.
10 bucks is cheap ■■■■ for the botters and silver sellers.
And IMC needs to invest time killing these accounts…

They would make more money from the token sales… if rmt wasnt here.

That is the sole reason they even bother with it.
Outside of retaining more players … and not alowwing players to farm stuff on 50th bot accounts to funnnel millions into they’re main account.

Have seen 5 bots with the cute name “Money1~5” at nefette mine today xD.
Bet we should check out oracle function… and look at the guys with the most silver. Some of the high level people, surely use bots at secondary accounts.
