Give Templar new Attributes as exchange for not having combat skill

I’d prefer more Auras that power up nearby guild members. Battle Orders is a good start. Should add more abilities like that. You’d be like the person waving their battle standard in the battlefield to increase morale.

I think that fits the class better than giving Templar more damage.

but that make Templar become the same role as the support class in party and guild T-T

for me I would like to see many role in the game.(just like Chess)

now we have many class that’s can make other member stronger but don’t have the class that’s can stronger on thier own by near many ally but weak when less member.

Maybe add some weapon passive to Templar C1 and better skills at C2 and C3 later. Right now making a Templar is like taking a bullet for the team.

You guys do realise that the intended reason of being a Templar is if you wish to become a guild leader (I am assuming guild officer if a Templar joins another Templar guild) that you find enjoyment out of organizing community’s that’s the hole point of the class system in the game each class does represent a form of “entertainment” in the form of a role based on the class.

to make things short play the class you enjoy the skills of so if guild organizer is not your thing skip the class completely but please stop trying to change every class because it feels more of a tax then something fun.

I play Warhammer 40k table top and the Templar looks more like a imperial guard Commissar I wish they gave the Templar the ability to execute people who run away from battle lol

Right now it’s a pretty poor implementation of a guild leader class.

It’s a throwaway as others have said with only negatives to the person who has to go to the class. The idea of having to dedicate time to create a guild is great but it shouldn’t require the sacrifice of a character to do that.

The class really needs to have some other benefits to it so the person playing it can actually play it as a character and not just as a shell.

You could give them auras or something to benefit guild members nearby, there are so many possible things you could do with them and the closest you can see of that is some 1 hour cd warp skill and a pretty shitty strength buff.

35 people is also a really god damn small max size for a guild.

Wouldn’t it make more sense for that class to have buffs for people around him? He’s suppose to be the leader class.

Or maybe its the right way think about it less desirable to be a class dedicated to making a guild means less guilds means more people populating these guilds I’ve seen a problem plaguing most mmos where you have guilds with 1-10 people splitting the people in the game to silly amounts where there is 100 guilds to 1000 people that’s 10 people per guild haha.

The thing is there is already a class for that considered hidden maybe they will combined the two.

Centurion use to be in the game, they took it out to rework it significantly. As you say though, that makes a much more logical guild leader character than the Templar.

I figure it’s kinda meant to be like chess where the leader is weaker and you have all the others to protect them. Having 2 more ranks in the class seems really painful though and perhaps they could either add more buff skills or a really good offensive skill at the final c3 rank. But really I’m hoping its just going to be a single rank class.

If they make the Templar sacrifice too much combat then the guild leaders are very unlikely going to be playing the Templar during guild wars and just playing their alt, which feels not so fun not to see the actual leader and be able to spot them on the battlefield.

I remember the centurion. I think it had some fundamental problems that got it held back. I’m iffy on how I feel about giving guild leaders formations though.

That seems too big. Guilds and formations. You have to make formations really strong to make them useful. And in their last version you were easily abused as power leveling tools. And it would make the Templar class stick out as the best specialty class. The other specialty classes make sacrifices to do what they do. An alchemist doesn’t get any comparable combat skills and either does a squire… Why should Templar get something as powerful as formations.

That’s exactly how it works. Warp in ppl, switch onto an actual combat character.

I agree that the existing version was excessive, you could replace the formations with auras or something similar and not have to worry about the ease of botting problems. So much potential…

maybe the new class is Captain(Corsair3) and General(Templar3)

The way I could see formations work is as you say auras but more in the form of arcs of the facing for instance

Front arc of the formation user gain attack bonus
Side arc of the formation user gain evade bonus
Rear arc of the formation user gain defence bonus

what I would purpose is a class that gives bonuses based on there facing to aid other members of there party this would add the fun aspect that people need to follow instructions to get the best possible bonus in the following example.

Tank : If the formation user is a tank they will always face the monster away from there group therefore giving everyone a attack bonus due to your facing your party as they smack it in the back.

DPS : If the formation user is a dps they will be in front of all the ranged user behind them giving them an added bonus of defence and those who are melee beside the formation user gain a bonus to evade.

The aura I have in mind would be the following also each rank increases the range/stat bonus but also the sp drain rate.

Tip of the spear aura when activated aids those in front of you with attack bonus.
Shield wall aura when activated aids those behind of you with a defence bonus.
Pincer strike aura when activated aids those beside of you with a evade bonus.

Aura Mastery max rank 5

  1. less sp drain
  2. Allow 2 auras
  3. less sp drain
  4. Allow 3 auras
  5. less sp drain

well as I see a leader usually they are not the best fighters. but they hold one thing over combat which is their abilities to lead and command. rally people on inspire those around those. and with the Templar at the moment I feel its lacking in that area. a lot of guild leader builds iv seen will be going at least 3 ranks in 1 class which shows they will have quite a lot of spots for skills. they have done 1 skill point skills before look at the sorcerer commands or the guild leader warping system . I agree with the lack of combat skills unless they wanted to give them 1 down the line like some sort of holy attack skill but this is a chance for a swordsman class to go down more of a buffing/support route even if it only applys for their guild

this is sort of a idea of what sort of skills would suit them I guess. idk why they need lots of levels in some skills like tower construction and calling guild members when they could give more less skill required skills

also I apologize for my spelling its not the best lol

Templar is in a perfect position and one of the best design choices made by IMC.

The class is designed in a way that you sacrifice a lot of combat abilities for the utility provided by being a Templar that you need friends and a guild supporting you.
This way not every random punk creates a baby guild and most guilds will have a stable player base. Very nice and much appreciated.

I like the idea of templars have improvement attributes.
They don’t need to be massive, but something that would point out one as a guild leader, and having the force to defend his/her comrades.
Plus, those attributes could be a little more expensive, reflecting the money that one will be able to make with a guild tower (in later updates, of course).

There are tons of good ideas in this post, and I like several of them, I honestly think IMC should look into this.
