Was thinking of making a tanky cataphrat
Sw > pelta > hoplite > cata c3
What should i grab after cata c3 cause i m conflict between dragoon or hoplite c2. I dont use 2h spear cause i like the ability to block. I am not sure what dragoon can offer to me while i know hoplite c2 give me a better finestra and upgrade on my stab and piercing.
Also is str important for cata? It increase the crit dmg for my skills? I m mainly going 1str 3con 2dex
If you want HOP C2, you should take it before you take CATA C1, because it will help you level up faster with higher level Finestra. DRA C1 can use all of its skill while mounting and using spear and shield (not really sure, but skill simulator say so.)
Also, if you would take HOP C2 you should invest more on STR instead of DEX since Finestra would make up for the Crit rate.

actually i m glad i went cata first before hop c2 because Cata move faster, has 1 AOE skill on lower cd than hoplite.
having another skill which is aoe and low cd actually lv u faster than hoplite c2
I’m thinking, more crit = faster killing. I’ve seen some videos that Swash Buckling + Finestra’s Attribute + Auto Attack did so much mobbing. It would be faster too if you build up more STR. Well since you’re in CAT C2 now and you think you’re doing good with HOP C1, you should go for DRA C1 in Rank 7 than HOP C2. The only benefit for you in HOP C2 is higher level Finestra and Spear Lunge but it won’t do that much since you have a lower level of [Pierce] attack for a Rank 7.
well frankly speaking the main reason why i want finestra lv10 is for the block bonus mainly and extra crit is good…
should i go pelta c2 for high guard lv5 + finestra lv5 + guardian lv1
so i can somehow get a boost on every stats slightly but manage to take away the negative stats??
Hmm on 2nd thought. Having 3 new att skill to my rotation is better than just upgrading to hoplite2.

Actually you can go any way you want like some veteran here said “everything is viable”. I think its Cathexis or Autentist.
High guard have a 60s CD which I think is quite crappy if you decided to deal damage other than your Blow Skills within the buff duration. For example: you think you don’t need it anymore after the 15s over the 30s duration, you can take off your shield to remove the buff and you will have to wait 45s to be able to use it again. With this, your Finestra will have an uptime of 90%. It’s decent. but will it crit/block enough? You decide.
On the other hand, PEL C1 is enough to tank actually. Just get the guard attribute and shield attribute and it will surely suffice.
Lastly, this is a personal suggestion. You can do what you want but nullifying Finestra’s negative evasion by Guardian’s attribute is a big waste I think. You better stack Gung Ho with Finestra and use Guardian (turn off Finestra by removing spear) when you need to evade attacks. Well you can still mix the two if you want to dodge and block at the same time which would reduce your damage output.
Disclaimer: About removing weapon to remove the buff, I’m not really sure and I can’t find the topic again but I’m sure its about a HOP + FEN discussion. Since you have access to the game(and Finestra), which I don’t, can you confirm this for me too?
